Let's hope with Mundo FOX as an affiliate, KMCC will do a better job of maintaining their broadcast properties in the Vegas market.

This is terrible KMCC must have sold FOX a real pipe dream like somehow KMCC is a Las Vegas station. Their experimental 32 Low power has very poor coverage and is feed by satellite which is out have the time ,and they can't keep that experimental license for ever.
I was hoping to see MundoFox on one of real stations Like FOX 5 or KGNG 47

Is Cranston selling Fox a bill of goods, or is Fox selling one to its advertisers, claiming to have a FP signal, which technically, it does, yet only an LPTV translator actually reaches the intended city? And then, not very well.

The same scenario exists with MundoFox and Hero License Co., their Phoenix affiliate. Hero's FP station is KMOH Kingman, technically in the Phoenix market, but the metro area is actually served by LPTV station KEJR.

Hard to believe that both affiliates could put one over on Fox, especially since Fox has an O&O duopoly in Phoenix.

Congratulations to Mako and their KEGS 30.2. Almavision has been restored to that sub-channel after a month of being AWOL.

Wednesday May 30th, KMCC 32.1 roared back to life with the strongest signal I've seen them pump out of their transmitter. Then by Saturday the signal was gone, only to reappear Sunday at high levels once again.

Elsewhere on the Vegas tv dial, KLSV 50.1 has been sitting in black this weekend while the 50.2 and 50.3 sub-channels continue.

KEGS 30.3, which has been one of the three SBN outlets, is showing color bars with an audio track seemingly from SBN.

The KEEN 17.1 simulcast on KNBX 31.2 is missing today.

CenturyLink Prism Troubles ,
Centurylink blocks ports at the C.O. so gaming and remote desktop don't work. Unfortunately most of the customer service operators don't understand this. They understand that the customer can open ports on the home router but don't understand that it does not matter if the central office blocks the port first. Cox only blocks a few ports Prism blocks most ports.

Mexicanal on 13.2

Since at least Sunday, Mexicanal has been missing from KTNV's 13.2. That service has been replaced with a standard def rebroadcast of the KTNV 13.1 main line programming. Journal Broadcasting, KTNV's parent company, had rumored it would be removing Mexicanal from some of their stations. A query to KTNV programming has gone unanswered. Mexicanal is a fiesty little diginet with a nice mix of programming, including a lot of useful repurposed newscasts from throught Mexico. If KTNV has dropped Mexicanal, as it now appears, then I suspect the network will quickly reappear on another channel in the valley soon.

Edited 6/6/12: A morning e-mail from KTNV confirms that the absence of Mexicanal on 13.2 is a permanent change. The source also hints that the SD version rebroadcast of KTNV's 13.1 is only temporary, with something else in the planning stages for 13.2.

KEEN 17.1's simulcast on KNBX 31.2 looks like an analog signal today.

Almavision on KEGS 30.2 is a no-show once again. First appeared the Dish Network graphic, but that has been replaced with color bars.

Up the dial on KGNG's 47, King Kong seems to be working on a couple of issues today. Aviva on 47.2 is missing, as well as TVC+ Latino on 47.7. 47.2 is sitting in black wile KGNG has cranked up their Sony 400 DVD disc player on 47.7 and is airing movies.

It looks like Korean Arirang has replaced Korean MBC-D on KGNG 47.8. At least some of their Korean programming is in English. TVC Latino + seems to be having problems getting a reliable signal to KGNG for their 47.7 sub-channel.

Anyone know what channel is airing on 18-1? It used to be RTV. It just seems to show old movies, with commercials, but I've never seen a station ID.

RabbitEars.info is reporting that Guns And Glory has shifted to 18.1 from their former 18.2 home. A-1 seems to continue on 18.2 and 18.3, while TUFF holds onto 18.4. In the past, GUNS shared time with A-1 on 18.2, while A-1 was full time on 18.3. If Luken's RTV is gone from 18.1, then KGNG's 47.4 will be our sole RTV provider in the Vegas Valley, and may switch to the Pacific feed of RTV and end their Eastern feed service.. Previously, 18.1 was a retransmission of Pahrumps analog KPVT. Some of these changes could be temporary, or we could see another Luken network emerge on 18.1 in the near future (TNN, FGO, or perhaps MyCAR).

Edited 7/1: I'm told that KGNG will continue with the Eastern feed of RTV for now.

New sub on 31.1

The beautiful color bars on KNBX 31.1 have yielded to a new sub-channel. Cubana Television seems to have been added to the KNBX lineup this morning. Lots of digital glitches currently, but the channel does have potential once the glitches get resolved.

Down the dial, I was hopeful that KEEN would launch a holiday sub-channel for the Fourth of July. Looks like I'll have to wait for another time to see 17.76 with patriotic programming keyed to this holiday.

Must be a contract with Mako. Cubana showed up on KTVP in Phx Tues. nite, with the same digital glitches.

KMCC 32.1 Laughlin/Las Vegas was spotted this morning, minus programming, after days of no detectable signal.. They are displaying their 'speedometer' of no service graphic. Will Cranston improve their KMCC reliability prior to the Mundo Fox launch later this year? Or will their Mundo Fox affiliation follow their announced COOL affiliation off into the sunset prior to actual launch?

KEEN 31.2's simulcast was off most of the weekend, leaving their main 17.1 service intact.

Now that Mexicanal is no longer being carried on KTNV 13.2, will one of the low-powers pickup the network? KELV 27.2, perhaps. With a heavy dose of local newscasts from arround Mexico, the network has a decent program lineup and deserves another berth in Las Vegas.

You got the Dolan Springs signal. As of Saturday night, the signal from the Black Mountain transmitter was VasalloVision while the signal from Dolan Springs was the "speedometer".

Tried to get some readings, but the signals I was getting at I-15 and Craig were mostly too weak, and multipath was eating up the signals at I-15 and Sunset. One of the clearer signals I got was the KMCC LP station.

Don't expect COX to add more locals anytime soon. It's not their biz plan to provide all locals in a given market. They screen what they think we would/should view, when it comes to local stations..

I have a relative by marriage who is african american, I can't say what she believes because cox employees on the fourm get upset . But I have a hard time explaining the position of cox to her. Since so many channels are shopping and other less viewed channels. Bounce has new original programs unlike ME TV and Antenna Tv which COX added which only run 30 year old reruns. I told her just get Prism or do what I did go OTA antenna. But they need ESPN and FOX news. Prism is not in her neighborhood yet. I guess your right it's two different biz plans one Prism thinks community service and Local is important The other COX believes shopping is more profitable whose to say which is best but I know cox is lossing customers to Prism . I worry that these new local stations like bounce might go away if they don't get enough coverage I don't see why the Cox isn't happy just getting customer payments but they also charge the local networks to be on. They dropped KEEN 17 because they could not pay COX they said "KEEN 17" COX charged more than thier programming, staffing and power combined. I remember back in the 90's when we could not get Star trek Voyager for like two years because COX would not carry the local station. So I must admit I am not pleased with COX

Perhaps you caught a test broadcast. Checking TSReader at 1:50 pm revealed they still have only the 5.1 and 5.2 feeds, along with M/H, and a null reserve. I was reasonably sure that COOL would resurface somewhere in Vegas after two attempts. First on KGNG-47, then on KTNV-13.

Elsewhere, KTUD-25 seems to be off-air this afternoon.
