Now for the daily saga of KHMP-18. Life Hacks on 18.5 has regained appropriate video to accompany the audio. The new 702.TV service on 18.8 takes another step towards launch as a camera is now showing a shot under a desk. Catchy music accompanies, but at a very low level.
Around noon time, what appeared to be regular programming began on 18.8's 702.TV sub-channel. During the setup process this morning it appeared a PC monitor was placed in position, and then a camera was positioned in front of that monitor. The monitor provides the feed from an unknown location. This results in loss of graphics on the sides and probably top and bottom as well. Video resolution is about equal to VHS EP mode, or poor. Audio is tin can quality with lo fidelity, and very low levels. I have a pc audio/video output cable to connects to 3-pin RCA inputs that would seem to have provided a much better setup, if not cleaner video. Programming seems to be an odd mix of all sorts of things from short infomercials for local businesses to what looks like short movies. It's not clear from what I've viewed who is behind this venture.
The channel uses a well designed graphic animation displaying "702.TV", but I've not spotted a logo bug within programming as yet.
History of Television, KNBX 31.4, remains in the dark. One of our Valley viewers got a message from MAKO, owner of KNBX, that HOT suffered a computer virus over the past week and is awaiting replacement equipment.
Will the last subscriber leaving Dish Network please turn off the satellite.
