Don't know when it got fixed, but it's fine now. Snow on the way for Bloomington (maybe).

Over and over, week after week, and year after year,
WTHR's fast-motion macroblocking and blur continues with SNF.

I noticed macroblocking on 13.3 last night at 9 pm. when watching Star Trek. Maybe WTHR has reached it's limit with running three channels.

I watched last night's Golden Globes at a friend's house who has AT&T UVerse. When I had UVerse about a year ago, I thought the national channels (ESPN, HBO, etc.) were of good quality but the locals really sucked. Watching the Globes last night on channel 13 I couldn't see any of the old problems I remember.

Anyone else out there have UVerse notice an improvement in the last year? I know some (Steve...) have technical issues with UVerse unrelated to its compression and picture quality, but I was really impressed with how it looked last night.

I've watched WGEM, Quincy, IL via OTA and its three channels look similar or better than WTHR's, and two of WGEM's channels are HD!

I've also watched WISE, Fort Wayne, via OTA and its two channels are much better than WTHR's three (one 1080i HD, and two 480i) and both channels from WISE are HD (1080i and 720p).

What are you seeing? Watching the News now on a HTPC using a MyHD tuner, seems OK, but hey.....My eyes are 'old'. smile.gif

I am looking to install an OTA antenna in my attic and run it (at least) to my setup in the basement. Anyone recommend a competent installer?

Yourself? I work in Danville and don't know of anyone in Hendricks County that does that kind of work anymore. I've put up my own and my daughter's antennae, both outdoor models on poles.

Running the cable through the house is not something I want to tackle. It will have to be fed from the attic, past the first floor, and into the basement. I also know nothing about amplifiers nor how to split the signal if I choose to go that route.

Love Comcast.

My bill is just a little shy of two hundred bucks a month, and right now I'm here in Bloomington watching Purdue come from way behind against Iowa on the BigTenNetwork.

The only problem is, THERE IS NO SOUND!

Yep, Comcast is great.

Just got a Lava 2605 and I can get ABC and Fox good but can not get CBS or NBC. I live in Bloomington. The 2605 is about 4 ft off the roof of a trailer.

May the Force be with you.

That antenna is advertised as receiving VHF and UHF, but just looking at it, I would think it would do a LOT better on UHF.
ABC and FOX broadcast on UHF, CBS and NBC broadcast on VHF.
I'll bet an antenna with better VHF capabilities would get all four networks for you.
Do you live just a little West of Kleindorfer's hardware?
I've seen that antenna and wondered what it was and how well it works.
If so, getting anything from Indy is impressive.

Yes, it is my ex-wifes trailer.I went there last night and got a larger poll and raised it about 10 feet and it made the signal worse. I called Lava today and they told me to lower it because the directal of the carrier waves.

Wow, I've never heard of that, but if there's one thing I've learned in life, it's the fact that digital television reception is all about experimentation.
It seems that the old rules don't always apply.
Good luck!

Anyone else loose WTHR 13 today? Checked their website but nothing about an outage.

Farcebook says transmitter issue.

Very early this morning (0400), I had trouble with 6, 8, 13 and 59. I'm on an antenna. Eventually, they all came back. In my case, it was atmospheric propagation problems.

Anyone else having problems with OTA WISHTV channel 8? Both audio and video have been breaking up (pixelating and audio dropouts) to varying degrees for the last 2 weeks. No other issues with any of the Indy or Lafayette stations. I have had great reception on all the Indy and Lafayette stations with a rooftop antenna from 8 miles South of Lafayette for years.

Sometimes, yah I have issues there also; sometimes so bad I can't stand to watch it, and flip-over to 13 I'm North of Anderson, and my VHF reception gets a little flaky sometimes; Atmospheric conditions I guess. I don't know if you can get their UHF channel from your location??? It's WISHLD on RF 17 .....seems someone said it isn't omnidirectional, so not visible to all. Lucky for me it comes in much better on bad days.

It's directional, because they must protect WYIN up in NW Indiana. If WYIN's tower wasn't in Lake Dalecarlia (between Cedar Lake & Lowell), or in South Lake County in general, WISH-TV might be able to aim more of their signal to the north. That is the reason most of the signal is aimed southwest.
