I love the 7:00am news on WFXB. It is the best of of the Local news on the stations in Myrtle Beach/Florence TV market. Also the 10:00PM news "top 5 at 10" is great too.

Is that also on your web site so that if we miss when they are broadcast, we can watch the WFXB news as a video. When I know I am unable to watch it OTA I have taped it. I must plan ahead to set up the VCR to do that.

I hope the folks at FOX news will think about a 30 minute national news. I assume some of the national news footage on the WFXB news is from FOX news network thou. It is great they way WFXB has the news put together.

On or about May 4th, WWMB (CW) HD will be added in Florence-Myrtle Beach DMA systems on Digital Broadcast channel 1130 and will be viewable with the use of a digital converter, TV with a QAM tuner or CableCARD-equipped Unidirectional Digital Cable Product (UDCP).

im here in SC, and im noticing some issues on 2 stations, WWMB and WFXB-DT4

on WWMB channel 21.1 im seeing green artifacts flashing on screen every few seconds, its not so "annoying", just wondering if anyone else besides me is seeing it.

and for MeTV on WFXB-DT4 im seeing some serious desync action on that channel, not sure if the guy who monitors this feed sees this

anyone sees these issues besides me, just to make sure its not the TV doing this

Hey Bob? I'm up here in Pembroke NC and I have Time Warner cable. I keep seeing on 43.4 OTA that METV is on channel 126 on TWC but we aren't getting it here on TWC. We are getting channel 43.1 on channel 2 SD, 125 SD and 1125 HD but we are not getting METV on channel 126. And yes we are in the DMA of Myrtle Beach Florence. If TWC is cheating WFXB out of advertising money by not broadcasting this channel when they should be somebody might want to contact TWC about it.

Thanks Bob, good to see your still checking this oooooooold thread. smile.gif

Anybody think WWMB 21.1 will EVER pass the DD5.1 audio during primetime? I think the HD early adoption years a long past now. Every should be DD5.1 on their main station by now.

I am about 5 miles from the coast in Myrtle Beach and near the airport and have no issues getting OTA with Antenna Pros AX-912 Indoor Dish Antenna. They say it has 125 miles range, but I can't confirm that. I get about 19 channels (includes subs) - ABC, NBC, FOX - the only ones I have trouble with right now are the HI-V range - which WBTW 13 Florence is in. I would like CBS, but, for the price and size ($59), I think it's a pretty decent antenna and hope to be able to cut the cable soon!

Your antenna is one of a group of what has been called "Cheap Chinese Junk". Cheap construction, flimsy materials, premature failures, and grossly inflated performance claims.

If it's still working after a year, we'll be surprised.

Try a Terk HDTVi/HDTVa or perhaps a Mohu Leaf. Or the basic rabbit ears and loop from Radioshack is usually a good starting point.

I would go to this link http://www.antennaweb.org/

Enter zip & street address. When it opens up the map; zoom in your home. When you are at your street lever click on the satalite. The follow the light green path from your home to the WBTW [ the Local CBS station] tower. Through the path you will see what the signal from the tower is going through. If you are on the ground floor you may be going through a house.

It looks like WFXB is starting to stretch syndicated programs and local commercials into 16x9. Hopefully, it will lead to HD syndication. Any information you can pass along bdfox?

It looks like WFXB has switched to 16x9 local programming. I don't think it's in HD yet, but Not the News looks pretty good in widescreen format.

Yes Lee, WFXB has transitioned to widescreen, they're still working out a few bugs so be patient. Thanks for the feedback on NTN.

bdfox, I love the new set of Not the News. Did you guys at WCCB help build it? Is the show still just widescreen? Cause I swear that new set makes it look HD!

Thanks for the kind words Lee!

The set was "re" designed by those of us at WCCB who have done quite a few other sets over the years. New pieces were fabricated by Free Lance Staging from Thomasville NC, the same folks who built WCCB and WSOC's sets, as well as sets for FOX, CCTv, Speed and many other big names. Installation was done by Bob from FLS along with 5 of us from WCCB with a lot of help from the folks at WFXB. I got to pick and buy the Tv's among other things like help with lighting and begin the installation of new encoding for WFXB.

We also got to enjoy Biker week while staying in Surfside. A lot of good food with beachfront lunches, good dinners like Angelo's..and some quality time on the beach to boot!
