Better weather update: WIYC is now rock solid at 85%, WSFAs fluctuation narrowed a bit to 67-69% and WBMM seems to be pretty steady at 65%.

I've called and left a message and send emails to WIYC asking what is going on. No response yet.

Hey guys,
Did anyone watch the American Country Music Awards show last night on ABC WNCF? I noticed there was no center channel sound all though it said DD 5-1. ABC always has trouble with the sound during live events. No big deal . I was just curious. Probably just me.

I can understand why it didn't sound good to you. You were watching the wrong network. ACMs were on CBS. That said, the sound on these things is usually terrible.

Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.

OTA Newbie here.O.K. help me here since you are having success. I bought an Orca AX929 G2 outdoor antenna and mounted it in my attic. I have been fooling with it off and on for a couple weeks. I hung it on a rafter even though it is amplified and has a rotor just to try it out. It seems overdriven with the amp. I have had fits trying to get both WSFA and especially WAKA. I did all the homework....they are supposed to be at 248 degrees WSW....but I can't get them. The only time I was able to get them was pointed...which is like 118 SE and WCOV and WSFA are supposed to be at 181 S. It's been a nightmare. My house is directly off Taylor Rd. There are some high pine trees behind my house. I have Charter for Internet and Phone and Directv including locals BUT it doesn't include the local sub channels.Looks like this will have to go back. A gentleman at WAKA recommended Antenna Direct HBU 33 but I had already ordered the Orca. I can stand in places in my attic but there is only a foot or so clearance and I'm 5'10". Any help or recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

From reading these reviews on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Antenna-AX-929G2-3-Stealth-Outdoor-Motor/dp/B007NPMTMC it sounds like you need to return it before it breaks on you and you're out your money.

Which sub channels are you trying to get?

Samsung 64F8500, Panasonic 65VT50, Oppo 95, Tivo Roamio for OTA, Dish VIP722, Marantz AV8801 preamp, Rotel Amps, Atlantic Tech 8200 speakers, Seaton Submersive HP, Calman 5, Chromapure, Accupel DVG-5000, VideoForge HDMI II, i1Display3pro, i1pro2, eecolor colorbox.

Yeah Jim. One of the Amazon reviews was questioning where all the great reviews elsewhere came from...said it could be marketers or others associated with the company.I mainly am interested in 2 sub channels....MeTv(8.2 or 42) and Antenna TV (20.2).I can live without anything else but I really want to be able to watch and record on my iView 3500 STB which I can do if I just can get the channels to come in. The antenna is flimsy (weighs like 6 lbs) but I did get WRBL Columbus one night although pixeled. I talked to a guy at the company a couple of days ago and he was accommodating as far as returning it if I was unhappy and additionally,I used Amex and I'm 100% confident they back me on the return. Any ideas ? Thanks for your response.

Those two channels are on separate towers miles from each other.

Did you use something like this to get their position? http://www.tvfool.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29

WIYC appears to have affiliated with Cozi TV. An April 18th edit to the WIYC and Cozi TV Wikipedia pages were made to reflect this. The cozitv.com page seems to verify the information, as it has WIYC on the listings page. Interestingly, it lists a 48-1 and 48-2 channel. WIYC is currently only broadcasting 48-1. The listings also only contain "Weather Nation Programming" at this time (even though infomercials are all I'm seeing broadcast), so the change appears to be a work in progress.

I noticed this too and attempted to contact both WIYC and Cozi TV. No response yet. WIYC keeps changing networks. I called the owner listed on the FCC database and he said he sold his interest in 2011. I don't think this station even keeps up with its FCC filings. Once I know what is going on I will post an article on my site and give an update here.

I would try a Channel Master 4228. I've set them up all over the area and they seem to pick up all of the stations.

Whomever edited the Cozi TV Wikipedia entry put this info under "owner" for WIYC:

Enterprise Capital Group
(operated by Southern Venture Capital Group pending acquisition)

Is Montgomery the only market where the towers of the major network affilliates are at least 30 miles out of town?

I'm thinking about going to a 2 antenna system, because I can't pickup all of the channels with my current setup.

Initially I had a leaf antenna, but the reception was really pixelated and wsfa never came in. The leaf antenna is omni directional.

After reading the message board, I decided to purchase a directional antenna. So I bought a rca antenna ant751. However, I have to constantly move this antenna to get different channels. This is a pain.

So I was thinkning about going to a 2 antenna system, but I can't find any combiners/splitter that take 2 inputs to 1 ouput. I saw alot of 1 input to 2 output splitters, but I wasn't sure if those would work by reversing them.

I need help and/or advice!

I live in the dalraida area of Montgomery, so I should be able to pickup plenty of channels. I currently have my antennas in the attic, and that's where I'd like to keep them if possible.

One other question that I wanted to ask. Will I still have to rotate my antenna in order to channel surf even if I get the best equipment available?

I'm really big on the CM 4228 with a UHF/VHF pre-amp. Much success all over Montgomery and Wetumpka. Should work well in your attic in Dailrada.

It was reported on my site yesterday but I'll tell y'all here too - WBIH is changing affiliates to a new network called Soul of the South (SSN). The network debuts nationally May 27 and in Montgomery June 1. The owner told me it will not be in HD initially. You would think any new station would start right away with HD. I've tried contacting WIYC to see when they will air Cozi TV and what their plans are. I can't get them or Cozi to call me or email me back.

Neither WBIH (Soul of the South) or WIYC (Cozi TV) have changed affiliates yet. Both were supposed to already. Someone mentioned on another site that WCOV was buying W17DC. Anyone know about anything that?
