I have tried a second antenna with the same result.

Hmm - within the last hour (Sat 9 AM) it just came back to normal. Wonder what the issue was?

Really odd - it is off again. The signal has always been steady 73, never goes above 75, or below 72, but mostly completely steady at 73. I wonder if there is an issue with the transmitter,

Are you talking about a WNYT translator?

Yes it is the one located at south mountain in pittsfield a couple of miles from me. I have never had an issue with it before - it has never fluctuated. I am getting no signal whatsoever from it. I can not get rf 12 WNYT because of interference from my solar arrays, but they only block 7-13 during the day and do an affect UHF or signals at night.

You can't get WNYT on 18.1 I guess either huh?

No way to far away. On a good day I can get it on 38 (on Greylock), but I set up DVRs and I can not be fooling around changing things every few hours. I had the same problem with rf 19(45) a while ago and it turned out to be a transmitter unit. Unfortunately, there was a ton of snow on the ground and the engineer could not easily get to the transmitter to get it fixed. All my other UHF stations on that antenna remain fine, so I do not think it an antenna issue. I think there is a problem on South Mountain. Interestingly, there is a lot of construction (road construction) happening in that area.

Sinclair announced recently that they're starting a diginet featuring science-fiction shows and movies that is expected to launch in the fall. Since it's owned by Sinclair, i would expect it to be on a feed of either WRGB or WCWN at or shortly after launch. Maybe it'll replace ThisTV if/when WRGB gets rid of that.

Interesting. We'll see what happens.

In the meantime... still waiting for developments on 10.3

Well I got that wrong - COZI did not appear today. In fact all of the Media General stations subchannels (formerly owned by Young) that had LWN are dark. Some talk of BUZZR

I ordered an RCA TVpramp1R from Walmart online for $20. I 'll post back to report results.

Nice that 45-3 is now in 720P for those who only have a UHF antenna, or have trouble getting 6-1. My Radio Shack VU-210XR survived another winter ( 20 years old now) , but would like to replace eventually.

Well, finally got around to installing the amp this weekend, and although it did improve signal strength, still no signs of WNYA-51.1. I was really hoping to get it, but what I saw instead was 14.1 out of Hunter, but it was very weak with a lot of dropouts.

Can't understand why I'm having issues getting 51.1, when I can get WKTV in Utica 53 miles away perfectly with no amp.

I have written wnyt - still have not heard back, but I still can not get a signal from rf 28. I have tried 2 antennas and it is the only UHF channel I have an issue with.

All,

The South Mountain site where channel 28 for WNYT has been having significant electrical power problems. Both the power company and staff have been working to resolve the problem. Hopefully this can be resolved soon, as it has been as frustrating for the station as I assume it has been for you.

I absolutely understand - there is also a ton of construction in that area (not sure it is related). I was more concerned that there was some issue with my setup or some weird interference. I tried a lot of stuff, different antennas, preamp no preamp, etc. I have a call into my solar company because interference from my inverters make hi VHF impossible during the day, no issues when the sun is down. Therefore I can not get rf 12 during the day. I probably pvr ME-TV (and at night antennatv) more than any other station. Thanks for the update. For whatever reason rf 38 on Mt Greylock is a really hit but mostly a miss for me. I think the power is just too low or rf 36 may be causing interference for me at my range.

I appreciate the update, so I don't have to worry about my setup now. Positive thoughts that the transmitter gets fixed soon.
