If you're referring to 8-1, then yes. It comes in fairly well, depending on what's being shown. From what I seen it's a split of Look TV & Youtoo America.
Look TV programs typically have a clear signal. While Youtoo America signal is dependent on the program being shown.

This idea would be worth a shot. This would be kinda like how CBS is on 6-1 & 45-3

As for my Ch 14 signal I managed to find a way around my "standing" problem. I tried moving my antenna one foot towards me, and turning it halfway between my main signal & Ch14 signal.
My main signals came in perfect. While Ch14 came in good 7-8/10 depending on which station 14-1, 14-2, etc. The only problem is I need to adjust my living room layout to accommodate
the change. Well at least it's forward progress.

Jesse Jackson...(no, not THAT Jesse Jackson) is at the helm of WNCE ("LookTV"). He appears to have become complacent about his 24/7 color bars on 8.2 It was over 1 yr ago that he reported being "network shopping"... which apparently didn't go too well.

Yeah, both those stations acting as "repeaters" to each other (although nobody in the WYBN viewing area [if there really IS one]) would give a hoot about Saratoga news... is a nice dream, but not likely to happen.

I haven't noticed any signal variation between his services. When a YooToo program comes on, it's just as watchable as a LookTV program. Anyway, it's still too bad he's got all those "blank" sub-channels.

For awhile they ran a looped infomercial for the Hole In The Woods ranch for special needs kids on 8.2. I watched 2 minutes of it once. The colorbars are about the same entertainment value.

WTEN is dropping weather from its .2 and replacing it with GetTV in the next couple of days, according to the Times Union's Pete Dougherty. It's about time they dropped that outdated weather channel.

According to Pete, the change will happen after a basketball game that's airing tomorrow afternoon at noon (a Fox game WXXA can't air because of its telethon), but my Tivo is showing the GetTV programming starting at 6:30 Monday morning. Monday probably makes sense since it's the first of the month, when a contract would likely start, but keep an eye out for it tomorrow afternoon, I guess.

Some bonus information for you: After the basketball game Sunday, WTEN 10.2 will get rid of the weather channel and change into a GetTV affiliate. GetTV is a new movie-centric network from Sony Pictures Television.

Kind of disappointing GETTV is already available on Dish - but Westerns and old movies are less interesting to me than sitcoms.

Good question. TWC currently carries the weather 10.2, but because it's changing format from weather to entertainment, I believe that gives TWC the option to end the carriage agreement and drop the channel.

I have TWC - and Get is on 10-2, the old WTEN weather station. So it looks like cable and/or OTA for this.

10-2 was showing GetTV programming last night around 11:30PM on both cable & OTA.

The onscreen channel guide did state GetTV next to the channel number. But it reverted back to old listing, the programming stayed the same though.

I will check later for any updates after 6:30 AM.
_________________________Update___

Looks like OTA listing info is a little more complete the last time I looked.

But it's a new channel, which is a win.

Always happy for real programming. I never minded having the weather info available on TV, but with instant info on cell phones now it's really overlap. But if they did a 10.4 with just weather data, that would be nice. For goodness sake though, that dang music they looped would have to go!

Thanks to the arctic blast we had this past weekend, I was getting in WPTZ continuously at 62% signal all day Saturday and half of Sunday. Did anyone else in the Albany area?

Not that I'm aware of. But I'm done tinkering with my antenna for a while.

Has anyone heard about any other possible channels being added?

We've had seven in the past year or so. Maybe more are to come. I hope so.

I checked into some of the OTA channels, and comprised a preferred list and gave them a ranking (** *** ****)

I wasn't aware of that! That's what I don't like about digital. I assume that in order to check to see if any e-skip signals are coming in, I'd have to re-scan almost everyday. And just recently I bought a "poor-man's" digital converter/PVR box to record off-air. It's pretty good, but the signals lose a bit of "umph" having to go through the unit. So much so that since I hooked it up, I've lost ch. 8 & 55.

The closing bracket is being included as part of the link. Should work if you take that off the end.

I fixed the links, but the forward slash ( / ) is causing the problem.
Just hi-light the links omitting the forward slash ( / ) copy/paste into browser.

Ahhh yes....I should've noticed that. Thanks.

You know, the weird thing about "FamilyNet" is that it's always been listed as having a local affiliate, ch. 26 ... http://tvstations.procontentanddesig...__NY/index.htm

It's listed in the TV Guide app I have on my phone. And correct me if I'm wrong "IN2tv"... but you aren't getting it at YOUR location right?

It's part of the WNGN/WNGX network which has baffled me for years! As far as I can tell the stations don't broadcast, although even on the FCC site, they're licensed and appear to be on the air! Actually, it says they have a CP for ch 23. They also have channel 43 Schenectady, and that tower is supposed to be within a mile or two from my house. But, I've not seen a signal there since the early 2000's when I recall it as analog.

Also, it's kind of dumb the way the "Fam Channel"site notes WFNY (49) as being the affiliate in the Albany/Schenectady/Troy market, but clearly due to its Gloversville location, it isn't available (off air) anywhere within this area. Obviously Gloversville is probably part of the Albany DMA, but the low-power signal doesn't stretch much beyond their local area.

It looks like IN2tv is defunct. That's what I get from reading their wiki listing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In2TV

I get conflicting information for FamilyNet.

Antennaweb shows:

FAMILYNET
WNGN-LP 38 FMN
RF Channel: 38
7 miles at 30°

While the FAMILYNET website has this:

Find RFD-TV and FAMILYNET in your area.
To find out if RFD-TV and FAMILYNET are available on in your area,
please enter your zip code and choose your Pay TV provider.

Sorry, I was referring to YOU as "IN2tv"... not the defunct channel.

And yes there IS conflicting info on Family Net, since they had (or have) more than 1 channel in the area, and have either changed it, or applied for construction permits TO change it, with regards to switching from analog to digital.

My sister lives on the side of a mountain in Mayfield. If there is a signal in Gloversville, she'd get it. Last time I was up there last year I rescanned her TV and there was no FamilyNET. Just 6 10 13 17 23 45 51 55

Well, WFNY 49, has about 4 or 5 sub-channels. A couple of them are audio relays of WFNY Radio. I've seen them when I've been in the Amsterdam area, so I know they're there. They don't have much power though. I believe ch. 13 still has a relay in Gloversville... ch.21 I think.

Perhaps she's on the east side of the mountain... otherwise I would think she'd pick up WKTV ch 2 as well. It's receivable in and around Amsterdam & Gloversville.

Not sure if anyone has any insight into this but have been struggling with cutting cord and getting OTA to work.

I purchased a Mohu Leave-50 antenna. All the channels come in great but for the life of me can't find FOX at all. I live in Cohoes 12047 zip. Several different sources of available OTA channels lists Fox as being available. Am I losing my mind?

Small panel antennas aren't well suited to receiving VHF channels and WXXA (Fox) on channel 7 could be a challlenge. WRGB on 6 would be even more difficult but it's also available on WCWN's carrier as 45.3 (RF 43). Are you getting WRGB on 6.1? WNYT on RF 12 could also be a problem but it's also available (from another direction) on RF 18. Since both use virtual channel 13.1 it can be difficult to know which transmitter you're getting it from.

The odd thing is...WRGB and WNYT are crystal clear and no problem...

Grounding Inquiry

With the Spring months coming, and the possibility of severe weather, I begin to worry because my outdoor antenna is not grounded. Last year I suffered (what I believe to be) a lighting strike, and it blew out a TV and DVD player. Now I'm concerned that the same thing could happen this year.

I sort of know what needs to be done about establishing a ground connection, but I have no confidence that I could do it myself. Some of what I've read, I don't quite understand properly either.

Does anyone here have their system grounded? How did you go about it? I can buy the materials, then hire someone to do it...but...who would I get, and how would I know that they would do it correctly...even though they claim they could?

This is a thorn in my side that I'd like to get resolved.

Any advice is appreciated.

Not familiar with "monoprice" and the link went to some 'plugs'. What channels aside from Fox are you missing?

Normally with an antenna question, someone will undoubtedly ask you to post your TVFool link. Usually looking at the db strength of the signals at your location gives a better idea of which antenna might do the best job.
