Was channel 20 and 34 not working for anyone else with Directv this morning? All my other locals were working from D*, and even when checking 20 and 34 on my antenna all I got was a blank screen so I assumed their transmitter went down and it wasn't a D* problem. Can anyone confirm they are OK now on D*?

WETM announced last night that their local news will be in HD, starting today. Gotta check it out.

Looking good. During the first few days they had lots of colorful rotating prisms on the edges of the screen. Ooh, look at us, we're in HD! Now the prisms are sometimes still there but they do not rotate.

Has anyone else noticed very bad crackling sounds during Chicago Fire on NBC when they play the fire truck sirens? I never heard this last season and I have not changed anything in my AV system. I have D* - does anyone with TWC or Dish hear this?

Does Binghamton still have their low-power NBC station? Is it a satellite of WETM-TV of Elmira or is it operated by another Binghamton station? (Sorry...never been to that part of NY state!)

WBGH (NBC) can be found OTA at 34.2. The local news is just a duplicate of WIVT (ABC) which is on 34.1.
It's broadcast as 720p.

So I watched CW content (Arrow last few years) over DirecTV in SD with crummy cropped picture but this year when The Flash was added I decided to break out the digital antenna and have been watching both shows in HD (this is in Southern Tier so channel is 12.2). So my question, why isn't this content in HD on DirecTV (and same goes for Time Warner Cable)? Is it the broadcaster not providing an HD source? Is it DirecTV (TWC) not wanting to add it in HD? Is it that DirecTV (TWC) would need to pay more to the broadcaster to get the content in HD? I was hoping to find out who is the hold-up so I could complain to the correct company(ies). Thanks.

I have asked DirecTV for two years or so why they aren't broadcasting The CW in HD and they reply with the standard boiler plate.

Thank you for letting us know of your continued interest in receiving
WBNG, CBS, in HD. I'm sorry to inform you we still do not have a date
the channel will be made available in HD. We have noted your request
and will be happy to let you know if it becomes available in HD in the
future
It might help if you send an email to DirecTV requesting The CW in HD.
This the email address CustAdvocFollowUp@directv.com.

Hi all, Newbie here. So I am tired of the cable company continuing to raise our prices. In fact, I have been tired of them for some time now. So, I believe I have done my homework and have done research on Antenna's. I have three recommendations for three different antennas from three different companies. Originally I wanted to put it in my attic, but the more I read, I am going to mount it on my roof. Obviously I want to best bang for my buck and do not want to do the trial and error thing with an antenna. The recommendations are: ClearStream 4-Ultra long Range from Antenna direct, Wineguard HD 7698P from Solid Signal, and The HD Stacker from Denny TV Antenna in Michigan. Do any of you use these? Am I over analyzing this? Do you guys or ladies have any recommendations? I am confident I can get all the Binghamton stations, maybe some others too is I get a rotor. any of you get stations from other areas too; Syracuse, Scranton, Elmira, Ithaca?
Thanks for your help, Brian

You need to also find out how far you are from your local TV towers.

Here's a good site to give you a lot of info about this.

http://www.tvfool.com/index.php?opti...pper&Itemid=29

For the cities you mentioned you'll need an antenna rotor..

Been there and have done that. Also have been to Antennaweb and Antenna point. I am not concerned about a rotor, as long as it works. Thats what I am wondering.

Standard blow back from DirecTV.
However, if they get enough requests it may happen.
Hopefully, after the next satellite is up and operational.

And thanks for taking the time to email them.
