Which station? WTAT moved back to 24 after the DTV transition.

Based on the TVFool that was posted, I would imagine WTKR from Norfolk is the more likely interference source.

You are right. I don't know why I thought that. Maybe the poster should try to aim his antenna a little bit better.

Interesting. I gather that Charleston channel 40 is a tropospheric thing then?

Curious how WILM would be able to fix it.. more power? move to different channel? Or just wait for the tropo effect to end and live with it? The effect appears to go away around 830 or so.

It's not coming from Charleston, but rather Norfolk Va.

WILM put out all the power they are allowed. There's nothing they can do at this time.

Hi Guys,

Long time no see.
Just wanted to let you know we have added .3 channels on WECT and WSFX. Escape is on 6.3 and Grit is on 26.3.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks,.

I just found these channels this evening. When i get more time, I'll watch some shows, but what I see right now appears to be movies and mysteries.

Grit and Escape

Grit is a man's channel. mainly Westerns, War Movies, and Action. Escape is geared for women. Romance and lots of crime stuff such as Forensic Files, etc. Both are owned by Katz out of Atlanta.

Both are 16X9 SD, but I notice they don't quite have their AFD signalling worked out yet.

Leedogg,

My understanding was that they were keeping Bounce and This TV on their secondaries.

I don't understand the appeal of war movies, action movies, and crime shows. Give me a Greta Garbo flick or maybe "Annie Hall".

Angry CBS near Wilmington

(I have no idea if I'm doing this right-sure hope I can find my way back to the right place, should anyone have an answer!)

I was feeling sorry for myself, until I saw this post. I was disappointed I can't get CBS in Southport. Guess I can give up hope if Wilmington can't even get it!

I watch a lot of PBS, here's just one more reason why.

In order to receive this 15,000 watt station, you will need a full size UHF antenna (metal not plastic) on the outside, pointed directly to Delco.

Ray,

I have been watching the new channels and they have some good stuff on there. Often times more interesting than what's on cable. Also the weather coverage on your channels is better than what we get from the north. They don't even mention our temperature half the time.

Anyone know what's going on with COZI? The sound is mono out of the left channel speaker only, too low, drops out for several seconds and the picture keeps blipping with green horizontal lines. Is anyone at WWAY awake to this channel? The other two channels are great.

WWAY 3.3 cozi TV needs to get their program data going. All it ever says is "Cozi Program Data".

Over the past couple weeks has WWAY TV 3's TV signal been weaker than usual? I've never gotten WWAY TV 3 nor WECT TV 6's channels constantly but I normally get TV 3 more frequently than TV 6. But the past couple weeks while I still get TV 6 about as much as usual, I'm rarely getting TV 3 at all. I have not reoriented my and cannot any at all.

I just happen to be available to test the signal. Stand-bye while I hook up a convertor box with a meter. I did notice some break-up a couple of days ago.

WWAY is the strongest at 67%
WSFX is 62%
WECT is 62% and bouncing down to 51 at times ? Never seen this before.
WUNJ is running at 53%

These signals are good. Some stations closer to me to the north come in even less or no better than Wilmington on this RCA convertor.

Might be time for a new balun, or check your coax for water intrusion.

jspENC,

Thank you for testing. Do you happen to know those signals are about average for you? I'm over here in Pembroke with a rooftop antenna and that's the reason I don't pick them up regularly. But nearly every early morning and every night I used to be able to get TV 3 but the last couple of weeks I've hardly been able to get them at all.

I probably would consider new components but all my other stations are performing as usual. Even TV 6 is still coming in about average as it has in the past while. It appears to only be TV 3 that doesn't want to come in as usual. I wonder if they've altered their orientation or decrease the power just a little. You are so close that probably wouldn't register before me way out here in the fringe area even the slightest change is noticeable.

Their engineer used to post on here regularly but haven't seen him lately. As a matter of fact this thread has been kind of dead over the last several months.

The signal readings are as good as they have ever been in the daytime. I doubt seriously anything has changed at the tower. I am also on the fringe, at 63 miles out. I use a 8 bay winegard uhf antenna that really rocks with an rca preamp. I split to 4 tv sets and a radio.
Still sounds like water at the connections because it will not show up on all channels. I,ve had this happen several times.

Ahh, okay thank you. I'm about 69 miles away and using a channel master UHF/VHF/FM antenna:

Crossfire 3671B boom
length: 173" = 14.4'
Width: 110" = 9.2'

along with a channel master preamp:
CM—7777 Titan

Guess I have to get someone up there to check my stuff it appears. Thanks for the info. :-)

I would check the coax fittings and the preamp very carefully, as they fail after so many years too. Hopefully, just the coax needs new fittings. I usually cut the ends off mine and redo them every few years. I would replace the balun too, they tend to get corroded. I am sure the antenna itself being that good channel master model is just fine, although there are no Low VHF channels these days, but that could change again.

Any reports of Spotbeam channel issues from Directv? WILM, WECT,

Its breaking up and skipping very frequently. Rebooted the HR34 Genie for good measure. Audio and Mpeg breakup. Transponder tests looks to be normal, and signal is within 96 to 100.

The stream is breaking up very noticibly on WILM and WECT at least.

Is this an issue with uplink or is it on directv's side?

Anyone in the know?

WILT-LD 24.1 and ME-TV 24.2 are translator stations for WILM CBS. Heres a quote from the WILM website: "WILM launches WILT–LD 24.1 as a translator station for CBS 10 WILM and MeTV, rebroadcasting the WILM signal farther south to help serve the under-served over-the-air viewers in the beach communities." I raised my antenna out here in Surf City about 20" higher this morning and now I'm getting a stronger signal from 10.1 and 10.2 and I'm also pulling in 24.1 and 24.2.
