Noticed on both my full box and the DTA that there are now channels 1901-1904 labeled "Security Camera". They have nothing on them, of course. The DTA also has a few of the new 1000+ numbers in it, too.

Noticed that little email icon on my cable box was on this morning. First message from Comcast in over a year, as this is the first time I've seen one on this new box (updated for MPEG4). Of course, it was just spam from them about having job openings.

Noticed two new channels on the cable box, both SD. 151/1721 is Primo TV. 152/1722 is Family Central (shows as KIDS on the guide) and is anamorphic and not properly corrected. They show up on the cable box, but not the DTA, so may be in Preferred.

According to Rob Feder: The Sinclair Broadcast Group just agreed to buy the Tribune Media Company for $3.9 billion. Hope we're not in for transmission fee battles over WGN.

Flicks? Here's my collection. And I've seen a lot, too.

I also worry about any change in the news. From what I've heard, Sinclair is quite "conservative". But then, Tribune itself has generally been a conservative paper, too... With WGN having over half it's weekdays as news (4-10, 11-1, 4-7, 9-10:30), something will probably give. At least it's better than Fox, as having 3 stations (well, 2.5 after WPWR's spectrum sale) would be a bit much.

FX Movies was added to Preferred awhile ago. Probably removing it from S&E to cover the rising costs of the sports channels.

Although probably not listed yet, on July 15, Universal HD will be shutting down. Comcast will be replacing it with an Olympics sports channel, in the Preferred package.

I noticed that in the new 1000 series channel numbers, they finally got WBBM on 1002, and got it pointing at the HD copy. 1007 (WLS) and 1032 (WFLD) are still missing.

WLS on 1007 and WFLD on 1032, both in 720p, have been working in Chicago Area 2 ever since the 1000s started.  WBBM (in 1080i) started on 1006 but moved to 1002 a few weeks ago.

Presumably it's the same in Chicago Area 3.  For the city's other three cable areas I wouldn't venture a guess.

Here in the NW suburbs, 1007 and 1032 are still missing.

Romeoville system has 1007 but no 1032. Still a work in progress.

I noticed a blank channel 268 and 1122 today. Turns out it is Bloomberg TV HD.

Slowly but surely, the suburban lineups are getting closer to the city lineups. I know within the city of Chicago, they've had Bloomberg HD for a while.

Diving's not a bad sport to launch the channel with imho.

If a movie or concert video or a TV show isn't on blu ray it darn well should be.

Does it have anything to do with the spectrum auction? Per RabbitEars, WOCK is definitely staying on the air.

nope. Probably has to do with the fact they no longer carry Mundomax and are now carrying infomercials all day. Since they are a Class A station they dont have Must Carry. I assume it was a 5 year agreement to carry it (since they started carrying MundoFOX in 2012).
