TV shopping but no ATSC option?

I have no TV and am buying one.
The Vizio TVs I have liked have no tuner and I need one.
What do I do for a tuner?

You need to look at TV sets, not the display-only monitors then. Yes, there is a difference.

Or you can buy an external TV Tuner to complement it. Many TV companies are foregoing the internal tuner because many/most people use TIVO, cable, or satellite providers that supply their own tuner boxes.

Most, but certainly not all, of the external tuner boxes have a miserable user interface and an extra remote to keep track of. If you want a really capable one, you can't beat a Tivo.

By that time, you might as well do it right the first time and by a TV set instead of the stripped model without the tuner.

As far as I know, Vizio is the only TV manufacturer putting tunerless TV's on the market so stay away from the Vizio brand name. There's gonna' be a lot of consumers returning them to the stores because of it and Vizio will pay for their deceit of having their giant monitors sold as TV sets.
