Its been pretty windy. If you use an outdoor antenna you might check to see it hasn't moved...

Well I have been officially "blocked" from KRBK's facebook page after pressing them as to why their signal is consistently the lowest by far and why it is that all other channels still come in for me when we get winter weather but theirs doesn't. LOL!

You don't give your location. Are you getting your signal from the SFN in and around Springfield,
or from the KWBM signal south of Springfield?

located in Ozark. My signal strength is now around 37% or so. Absolutely no issues picking up any other channels despite the snow.

It's absolutely ridiculous I can't pick this up ALL the time with a separate antenna + preamp+ distribution amp.

It's not their fault that you are on the back side of a hill facing away from their broadcast tower.

Edit. You realize that Bolivar is about 180° from where an antenna for KWBM needs to be aimed...

Chuck,

What signal strength are you getting for KRBK off KWBM's transmitter in Branson?

I'm about 10 miles southwest of Ava, and with my outside antenna pointed north
towards Fordland, KRBK \ KWBM comes in at 75 to 80 on my Pal DVR's signal meter.
I'm close enough to the KWBM tower that it comes in strong even though my antenna
is actually pointed away from it.

OK so I realized the coordinates I had given earlier were wrong. Google maps was mixing it up with another street name with the same name in Ozark. A much closer representation at my situation would be: 37.0316027 -93.19952269999999

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d5b940f11af42d0

With that being said, do you all think I can pick up KRBK vis KWBM stronger than how I am currently aimed?

If you're in Ozark, everything except the new KRBK SFN is east of you.

So far its only being broadcast through the Springfield KRBK SFN on 49.2.
It remains to be seen whether it will also be available through the KWBM signal for those of us south of Springfield.

KRBK has a total of 5 towers of their own (plus a piggyback sub-channel on a station down near Branson), one of which is in Bolivar.

You have to know where the "best" signal is likely to come from for any given location then aim your UHF antenna appropriately while avoiding the other signals.

New place!

I'm thinking about putting up an antenna and working toward re-cutting the cord at some point. Here's my Tvfool

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d5b94c2c7bb574b

Looks like I have a better shot at Springfield than I do Columbia stations. Some are 2edge so that's where I am concerned. Thanks for your advice!

Well, the good news is that KRBK won't be an issue...

A long as you aren't behind trees, you should be able to get it to work. Many Lake locations are pretty much SOL when it comes to antenna usage. Something like a 7698 and LNA200 should do the job.

I am looking for someone with the means/ability/tools to help trouble shoot a problem I am having.

I have been having reception issues on my local ABC and its sub-channel. My setup is a two antenna setup. I have an Antennas Direct C2V pointed toward all towers except Fox (it is in a completely different direction). I am using an Antennas Direct 91XG to pull in Fox. I just recently had both antennas combined using this custom combiner: http://www.tinlee.com/PDF/AC7-customer%20general%20hookup%20Info.pdf

The combined output ran to a Channel Master 3414: http://www.channelmasterstore.com/Antenna_Cable_TV_Amplifier_p/cm-3414.htm

That is then ran out to 3 television sets. I had experienced some trouble with the new Channel Master DVR+ that I was hoping the Tinlee AC7 combiner would solve. But, unfortunately it didn't. The Tivo Roamio I have hooked up was not having any of the same problems the DVR+ has with the same setup. I began problem-solving to make sure that the tuners on the Channel Master DVR+ weren't being overpowered (which they weren't). I knew I couldn't add a preamp to the Antennas Direct C2V (that's where the ABC stations are coming from) because when I ordered the custom AC7 combiner I only had DC pass built in for the Fox station from the Antennas Direct 91XG (because according to my TVFool report it is my weakest station). I had this amp laying around from an earlier setup: http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=sky38323

I decided then to run the combined output from both antennas into the Skywalker amp (it has a nob to control amount of amplification; I did not turn it up all the way), then from there to the Channel Master 3414 amp and split to the 3 TV's. Then voila. The ABC channels stabilized and my Fox station signal quality has jumped up to 84% signal strength and mid 90's signal quality. Unfortunately, the stabilization of ABC and its sub-channel (33.2) only lasted a couple of days.

So, I am looking for help with this situation. One TV only connected to a coaxial line doesn't have the problem. Another set connected to a Tivo Roamio hasn't had the problem. I'm not sure what to make of it. I'm wondering if there is an issue that the DVR+ is detecting because it is more sensitive but don't know what it could be.

Here's my TV Fool report if it helps: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3D5b940f11af42d0

If more additional information is needed, please ask.

Did anyone else lose all of the Springfield OTA UHF channels today (around noon), or it it just me?
I still get KOLR-10 (VHF), but nothing else.

Just you. If you use an outdoor antenna, it may have gotten moved during the storms.

Thanks.
I don't know what happened. It was clear and sunny when they went out.
Came back on around 4:30pm.
Must be a loose connection somewhere.

I give up on FOX. Used to be I could "split the difference" between pointing at Fordland and KWBM and get both fairly well. Now it appears that something has happened to the KWBM coverage... I noticed when a FOX show failed to record the other day. Now the best I get is broken and pixelated. I'm sick of chasing this network's marginal signal and their screwed-up toy antenna. I just pointed my antenna at Fordland and said GOODBYE FOX.
