KTTZ-DT 5-3 just showed up on my televisions. A repeating commercial about the new PBS Kids channel is the only thing running on the station at the moment.

Graphics in the commercial say it starts 1/16/17 on KTTZ 5-3 and on Suddenlink channel 140.

The 28 channels have been off the air several days now . Channel 13.2 is broadcasting ABC (28.1) for now. I seen some workers
being hoisted up the tower today , so I"m guessing problem must be the antenna.

Part of the antenna burned out Saturday evening. KLBK is broadcasting on low power at the moment. KAMC is completely off the air. As mentioned above, ABC programming is being aired on 13-2 temporarily.

The tower crew took down the damaged part on Tuesday. A temporary replacement part was being shipped from Maine and is suppose to arrive sometime on Wednesday.

The crew will install that part which should allow KAMC to come back up.

A new, permanent part is also on order and should arrive soon. It will replace the temporary part and we should be back up to full strength.

Both stations have been posting updates (and photos) on their Facebook pages.

KAMC is back on air, but in low power, as of 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. The diginets are also back up as well.

KAMC is no longer being simulcast on KLBK 13-2. They've put Laff back up on that channel.

KLBK and KAMC are back broadcasting a full power signal as of midday Monday. The tower crew has finished the install of the new antenna.

I just noticed Cozi TV was now on 14-4 as well.

Let's see if Buzzr gets picked up by someone else in Lubbock.

Does anyone else in Lubbock have a problem with all the channel 29 channels having audio drop outs and video freezing so often that it's unwatchable?

I have aTiVo Roamio OTA, a TiVo Bolt and a Dish Network Hopper 2 connected to an un-amplified CM4228, 6.6 miles from the transmitter, pointed right at the tower and all three exhibit exactly the same characteristics.

Whether I split the signal 3 ways or run it straight through to the tuner the problem is the same.

I have two other receivers (TiVo HD and another TiVo Bolt each attached to a small all channel antenna that do the same thing.

The problem is not overload, because the signal strength is rock solid never wavering.

I think the problem is in their encoder or transmitter and have messaged them so..

Channel 29 is more stable today, not sure why.

No audio dropouts on any of my 5 OTA tuners.

May have spoken too soon, just had some audio dropouts and picture is freezing.

jim, sorry to take this long to reply. Im not able to receive the ch29's. When was getting them several months ago the audio was awful and the picture was like it was slow motion , I thought that was because I was a distance from the transmitter antenna. I dont have any thing extra just receiving everything OTA with an outdated outside antenna.

I noticed a new station id promo on MeTV this evening during the local commercial break just before 8:00. It said MeTV Lubbock but identified the stations at “KLBB Lubbock, KJTV-CD Wolfforth and K44GL Plainview.” I’ve never seen this before until now.

The station went to black for a second or two, then the normal METV Lubbock id promo aired, as it normally does at the top of the hour. This one was still the same and identifies the station as “KLBB-LD 48.1 Lubbock.”

I did manage to snap a photo of the new one with my phone when it aired again later. The photo is attached at the bottom.

I ran a new scan and we still only have the normal 39 digital channels.

Wonder what Ramar is up to?

KJTV-CD is channel 32-1 and is not broadcasting the same programming as 48-1 MeTv.

Maybe in the future.

Ramar is always experimenting with its many available channels

Saturday was the first time I noticed the new station id billboards airing in addition to the main ones at the top of the hour.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with KJTV-CD. Maybe a 32-3 in the near future?

Who knows...

It's not a full launch yet. The engineers are still working out some bugs with the 13-3 signal. The official launch date hasn't been announced yet.

TvFan, With the numerous tv channels over the air available for broadcasters, how is one channel picked over another to broadcast locally?

I would assume Nexstar Media Group has signed some sort of carriage deal with Justice Network, LLC. Several of the former Media General stations already carried the station when Nexstar took them over.

Good question. There are several networks available that are “much more popular” than Justice network and some other networks currently available in Lubbock.
