Cut/paste from my post in the Dayton thread:

WRGT and subs just went dead here, can I assume they share a tower with WKEF and the power was lowered for safety reasons as described earlier?

Also, I have a decent signal from 26.1 in Dayton but it appears like a 3D movie without glasses on. Anyone else having issues?

I enjoy Decades, Heartland on weekends for fishing. Mr. Block made TV watchable this year in Cincinnati. Also watching Dayton Dragons is a plus. WKRC 12.1 get bad reception on the west side

Decades is the other channel we don't have in Cleveland.

Mr. Block, have you considered expanding to Cleveland?

For the stations themselves, check the first post on this thread.

For each sub channel, most of the online guides (like Titan TV) are relatively up to date.

http://rabbitears.info/market.php?re...n=woth#station

this gives you all current cincinnati channels plus subs. click on each local channel and it shows you the subchannels. if you want another city just type in the call letters at the top of the page (call sign) to get that citys broadcasting channels.

Thank you both very much. I'll have to bookmark both of these links, as they appear to be quite useful. The first post in this thread is not very helpful if one needs to know for example where to find GET-TV without already knowing which major carrier to query. But both the above guides are handy.

On edit, did a rescan to grab WXIX 19-3 and found 20-4 is H&I and 20-6 is TUFF-TV. So not only do we have 25-1 - 25-6 we have 20-1 - 20-6. Thanks Elliott. You are awesome.
Thanks, Bearcatthalfk! We added H&I right before the 1st of July, I guess your set's PISP still said "Tuff TV" and that is what confused you until your re-scanned and the set found the correct PISP data. You would not believe how many LPTV don't do Dynamic PISP to inform there viewer of what is on there channel, Detroit, Denver, Las Vegas, Buffalo, Boise, are one's I personalty know don't have it, WOW. We had the same complaint from Antenna TV about a very influential viewer with a broadcast background saw AMG-TV and the PISP was showing the listings for Antenna TV. Re-scanning did the trick for him also.

Here is some more feedback. You have now created more work for me. My main (LR) setup has used an antenna for the past 6-7 years. Now my wife has discovered the recently added channel 20 options and I must now put antenna TV in the BR as well. Thanks! The wife (and I ) love the new channels! Seems you are doing MUCH better now than a couple of years ago when you were looking to sell.

The station has to send there data to titan TV to be included in the listing. A lot of LPTV stations and some full power station don't bother. One broadcaster I know in NY just added THIS TV and said "it's not important to me have the movie titles",he added on a .8 with 2 megs of bandwidth, right! There are several listing services a station must sent the information to. Dish used Tribune, and the Enquirer sitll used another service. WKRP and WOTH used Titan for our web pages and on on air guide.

Elliott, the Retro TV affiliate up here didn't put out any program info the first couple of years (they were America One back then). Even today, their OTA program information is sparse (generally just the show name) and often hours off. Have you thought about buying two stations in the Cleveland market?

Rumnor has it that Elliott has a plan for World domination of television broadcasting. First with his two Cincinnati stations, then expansion into Las Vegas (just for the buffets offeredf there), then other markets that offer less than lucrative deals, including Toledo and Knoxville. Since this is a secret plan, Elliott won't fess up to any truth contained in this post. Maybe I should have saved this for April Fool's Day.

Wanting a strong FCC to say no to the Wireless lobby. Keep the tv broadcast band for ota television broadcasters.

Anyone else having trouble receiving WPTO 14 out of Oxford, Ohio? Normally it's an easy channel to pick up here in Kettering but as of yesterday and today it's not coming in at all.

You're right.

I always assumed they were broadcasting out of Oxford because of their many logos such as this one...

The fact that they share a tower with WXIX actually answers my question since WPTO isn't receivable here now and they're almost double the kw power of 19 and 19 still comes in.

I could be wrong, but I believe since all three Southwest Ohio PBS stations (WPTO, WPTD, and WCET) merged a few years ago that all of their programming emanates from WCET near downtown Cincinnati.

Oxford is just its city of license, not any guarantee that they do anything more than put a strong enough signal into Oxford.

One of our PBS affiliates up here (WNEO/45) is licensed to Alliance (eastern Stark County/Cleveland market), but has its transmitter in Salem (northern Columbiana County/Youngstown market) and serves as the PBS affiliate for the Youngstown market from studios in the Akron suburb of Kent (very much in the Cleveland market) where it simulcasts with WEAO/49 Akron 24/7 as "Western Reserve PBS".

What was that about Oxford again?

The true and only the true. All three station master controls are in Dayton. WPTD transmitter is in Dayton. WCET is on tower that Channel 5 is on. WPTO transmitter is on the WXIX tower.
WPTO has been running at 100% power and has been received in downtown Dayton with no problems.

im the exact opposite - I have a hard time with ch.16 here in sharonville. ch. 14 is way stronger than wxix here. on trippo evenings ch. 19 breaks up on the antenna in my attic while ch. 14 is fine. its rather strange that they are on the same antenna tower.

WXIX is on RF channel 29 and WPTO is RF channel 28. I think you mean adjacent channel can be co-loacted on the same tower with out a problem. What is taken into the equation is the interference is proportional to all receivers from the same tower. As WXIX is a panel type antenna array, and WPTO is a directional antenna with it's main lobe pointed north ( to cover it's city of license). They do have there signals radiate in different directions, 19 is more omni and 14 is directional patterns.

That would explain why the weaker channel 19 stayed in while I lost the signal on the stronger channel 14.

BTW, turns out my antenna turned just enough to loose 14's signal.

Got an oddball channel here being picked up by Windows Media Center. It's reminiscent of that mysterious TV channel, 35.3 (WLWT) that was coming in on certain devices several years ago.

No question it's actually WCET 48.2 (real channel 34.2) but for some reason it shows it being real channel 34.4. I wonder if WCET is getting ready to launch another sub or is this what they call an "UpdateTV Service?"

WCET 48-2 is actually on Program Number 4, so 34.4 is how you would get to it if there was a PSIP problem.

FWIW, I haven't noticed any PSIP issue from WCET recently, but do note WMC has recently changed providers for EPG from Zap2it to Rovi, and it has been a mess for many ....

I use a Cincy DMA zip with WMC 7, had a heck of a time getting OTA listings to work at all and get it "switched" to using Rovi, and unlike was the case with zap2it, Dayton channels aren't in the guide for Cincy OTA listings when you use a Cincy DMA zip code, assume the same is probably true for Cincy stations with a dayton zip ...

WMC (7) scan(such as via scan for additional channels) finds the PSIP VCT info (or however it does it, not sure if it actually uses PSIP or not) for the Dayton channels fine though ...

Oh, btw, Update TV is long gone from CET ... Suppose I should send rabbitears some updated TSReader caps one of these days soon

Jeff
