Just an update to one of my previous posts... I finally got my TiVo Roamio up and running tonight. It came in last week, but I never got a chance to mess with it. So far I'm very impressed. I got the standard model so I would be able to use antenna or cable card. I figure I can easily buy my own hard drive and upgrade it later.
I hooked it up, installed the updates, and did a scan. It found all the area channels, at lower signal levels than my previous experience.. but then again it does have four tuners to split it among. It picked up all the expected stations, with traces of a few others. The only exception is it doesn't recognize the 9.5/64.5 WSOC/WAXN tuners but I already submitted a request to have that corrected. Hopefully TiVo will. So far the picture has been rock solid, with no break-ups even on Channels I don't get a good signal on with the AM21N. No sign of WIS, but I am using an 8 bay UHF antenna pointed towards CLT. Interestingly enough I do get a 35% signal on WOLO from Columbia though which makes me want to rotate it and see what I get for fun.
I'm torn at this stage on whether to get a Cable Card or stick with the antenna on it... decisions decisions.
