Well, congrats to those with Charter, as you now have FOX 33 in HD on channel 783.

As for us "lowly" OTA HD viewers (who can't get Charter cable), apparently FOX is "hoping" to get HD programming going by December. Yes, I have my doubts.

Here's the link: http://www.fox33.com/

That's good news. I don't see it yet on Charter in TC, but if it's up by the Tiger game tonight I'm going to be very happy.

Nothing here on my Charter Cable Card here in Traverse City..

Like the other guy said, if its up by Tigers gametime tonight Ill be incredibly happy..

On another note, I cant believe FOX actually beat ABC to the punch..ABC has been promising HD on Charter for well over a year now, and now Fox comes along and gets it up and running in like 2 months since their announcment..Way to go FOX!

I talked to someone last week at ABC and they did say they will be on charter by the end of the month, maybe we will get lucky today and both fox and abc will be on.

Did ABC say anything about their OTA signal? I'm so sick and tired of only getting NBC HD OTA.

Last time I talked to them, back in March or so, they told me their signal was only going to be on Charter to begin with..

That was a good 7 months ago though, so who knows what they are up to now..

well the engineer told me that they would be on charter in hi def, he wasnt clear on weather the over the air would also be in hi def tho, he did hint that they probaly wont be at full power till Feb 2007, but I remember someone here said they heard on the radio that they would, or maybe they will up there power a little maybe is what he was saying and then go for full power in 2007, guess we have to wait and see, guess cant get real answers yet, as I spoke to Fox last week too and no mention of coming to charter. So who knows, PBS told me last summer that they will have a HI DEF signal by now too and nothing yet.

Congrats, guys, and enjoy the Tigers game tonight--go Tigers! Also, once the game is over, post a comparison of the FOX HD with the NBC HD quality-wise if you could.

With no subchannels FOXHD should make NBCHD and their 2 subchannel nonsense look pretty silly..If they have everything working properly that is..

Good to see Fox is now HD on Charter. What a pleasant surprise. Now if only ABC would get on the ball.

Everyone I know that has Charter is having the problem..

From Williamsburg to Manton and everywhere in between..

Lets hope they get it fixed, but if CBSHD is any indication this problem will never get fixed..

OK, I have decided that instead of just constantly complaining about Charter HD I am going to make an attempt to do something about it

First of all, let me state that when I have a problem with a Charter HD channel I do not just automatically assume its a Charter problem..Before I assume anything I contact other people that I know and verify that they are having the same problem..

Currently the problems I see and that I have verified with at least a half dozen other Charter HD subs are:

1. CBS HD constantly macroblocking/pixelating during demanding sequences. When I say demanding sequences Im talking about fast motion scenes, scene transitions, explosions, brightly lit scenes, and worst of all, for every sporting event anytime the camera pans in close and theres even the slightest bit of motion the screen breaks up into blocks (macroblocking)..

This problem occurs on every set Ive ever watched WWTV HD (CBS) on..And its been happening for well over a year now! This problem does not occur on Atlantas CBS HD that I get thru Dish Network..This problem is unquestionably a Charter engineering issue..

2. The other problem is FOXHD...The channel is having video breakups every couple minutes or so..Very slight, but very annoying..I have seen this on one other HDTV besides my own, and I have talked to about 6 other people that see the problem..Again, this is positively a Charter engineering issue..

Charter has had many other engineering issues in this area over the last year also, and all they ever want to do is send out a truck roll to your house to fix a problem that is absolutely not at my house..

What I have done is left some voicemails at our local Charter office in their engineering department. That # is (231) 947-5221 (ext. 6)..There are 3 different voicemails linked to the Engineering extension, I left voicemails for the first 2 names..

Also, I have dug up the email address of our local Charter VP/GM..That email address is: joe.boullion@chartercom.com

I have emailed this person and basically just explained the fact that I am tired of truck rolls for Charter engineering issues that arent based in my home..I would like an email address or a phone# where I can contact a local Charter engineer and discuss the problems..

Anyways, Im sure most of you probably arent nearly as adamant as I am about these problems..But, to anyone that feels the same way I do, please take some time and make a phone call or two and maybe fire off an email to the VP/GM..If we make some noise we might get somewhere..We definitely arent going to get anywhere by calling Charter customer service..

Thats why I was hoping that all the networks would finally go full power, I doubt Charter will fix anything, theres probaly only 6 people getting HI DEF from them, but I may email them and pnone them too.

I know more than 6 friends/family members that have Charter high def on my own

In the summer I make a few hundred inside house calls a season, mostly on the Old Mission Peninsula, and trust me, there are plenty of Charter HD subs around..Our Charter area runs all the way to Manistee, and as far as Cadillac, and a whole lot of places in between.. Huge area, with thousands of HD subs..

Anyones else picking up a stronger signal from ABC? I'm getting a little stronger one here in Interlochen, and I get a sub channel of 29-4 but no picture on it, must be going to the WB.

I did a scan and didnt come up with any subchannels for 29.1 ABC..

I normally get a signal in the high 80's for 29.1, off Zimmerman Rd, with an indoor antenna..

29.4 sounds scary..Does this mean they are leaving room for 29.2 and 29.3? My God, I sure hope not..Not sure if Ive ever heard of an HD channel with 3 subchannels other than PBS..Sounds like an HD nightmare to me..

Well I'm getting ABC in HD now along with the WB in SD, although it looks like I'm getting Godd Morning America in SD even tho it says 720p, maybe I have my aspect set wrong, does look alot sharper. I see some macro blocking on the WB no biggie tho, dont see any power boost yet, maybe its coming.

Well well well..Seems Northern Michigan has all 4 nets in HD

Im picking up the ABC HD feed on 29.1 and the SD feed of The CW on 29.2!

GMA is not in HD though, but as far as I know it is only HD in select markets, so this is not suprising..

29.1 is definately an HD feed though as its been switched from widescreen SD to an upconverted 4:3 720p...

Now we just need Charter to fix the problems with CBSHD and FOXHD and we'll be all set

BTW, I did recieve a response back from our local Charter GM/VP..It was a positive response too..Once I get my kids all to school I will share it..

No, the power appears to be the same as Im still in the high 80's..

GMA did all of a sudden turn HD though, full on, looks awesome..

When I left to take the kids to school it was 4:3 upconvert, now its full HD!
