WSET-TV discontinued regular programming on its analog signal, over VHF channel 13, on June 12, 2009, the official date in which full-power television stations in the United States transitioned from analog to digital broadcasts under federal mandate. Since October 2009, the station's digital signal relocated from its pre-transition UHF channel 34 to VHF channel 13.[11].

Just saw that we now have Escape on 27-4, Bounce is gone from 21-3 (still on 27-3) replaced with Laff, and Grit is on 21-4.

Some things you're just handed and move forward as requested or required.

Anyone else seeing severely decreased signal from WPXR? My parents can barely decode it lately.

It's been worse than normal at my house lately. I just thought it was due to the summer vegetation. I don't watch it much anyway.

The repack plan is out. Check rabbitears.info for details.

Why would you move WSLS from 30 to 34 and them move WDBJ from 18 to 30? Why not move WDBJ to 34?

Channel 2 in C'ville and 3 in Roanoke. Interference problem?

To the first question, WDBJ doesn't fit on 34. It would be too close to WUNL on 33, WNSC on 34, WITN on 34, and WYBE-CD on 34.

To the second, shouldn't be.

Per an FCC application filed yesterday, WCWG will channel share on WXII's signal with at least one 720p and one 480i channel.

I hope you will keep us up to date with any filings that affect the Roanoke/Lynchburg and Bluefield DMA's!

(Cross-posting in Roanoke, Richmond, and Charlottesville threads.)

Does anyone here know of someone who would do repair work on a rooftop antenna? My father in law, who lives on the Prince Edward-Charlotte County line, has an antenna that works very well for him, but in a recent storm, the stand-off holding the cable came off the mast and took the cable with it, so now he receives only WSET and WWCW. The roof itself is very steep and it's a metal roof, so it would be very dangerous to do without professional equipment.

I understand that a drive out to this area would likely be pricey since it's 1-2 hours away, but I doubt there's anyone closer than Lynchburg, Richmond, or Charlottesville, and I've not had any luck finding anyone to do it so far. My next step might be seeing if a roofing company could do something about it.
