This has been this way for some time. KFSF and KDTV are paired up like KUVS and KTFK over here, showing Univision and UniMas in HD on both stations. I did notice something very strange. Although the same program was on UniMas on both KDTV and KUVS, they had completely different commercials.

In the Salinas market KSBW is showing NBC and ABC in HD and KION has CBS and Telemundo in HD. This may become the norm if channel sharing becomes a reality.

Edit: Now it disappeared but 2.1 - 2.3 are fine so they're having some kind of problem.
They likely did not get it set up completely and correctly. When the 5 PM news approached they put it back so that the station would not lose any money during the big $$$ 5 PM news.

One or two commercials missed during the 5 PM news would be more that 2.4 would earn in many months. And what 2.4 will earn in many months would not equal the overtime for an engineer to come in at 2 AM.

Ever read the ATSC spec? I just skimmed it and was astounded by what I learned. Tune your HDTV to a different station, that's in it.

KTVU 2.4 Buzzr seems to be fixed. I'm now receiving it on all of my receivers. They've got some really old game shows. "To Tell The Truth" is on now and Johnny Carson and a very young Betty White are on the panel.

Windows Media Center will be gone with Windows 10 which I just reserved my FREE upgrade from W7.

WMC I have no idea where it gets it's program data, Zap2It is web ad sponsored so MS cannot be using that.

I pay $25 / Year for ad free listings to SD.

BTY, years ago when I needed to change a disk it took lots of arm power, the ~ 12 platters in the center of this picture was used in a dishwasher sized drive made in the building that Fry's is in Sunnyvale.

No, this is the "service" that Zap2It provides to Microsoft
for Window Media Center that you download every few
days and provides a guide and the virtual/physical channel
mappings for your local area.

I just downloaded the latest, but for channel 2.3 it's still
a waste, because the guide lists the programs for 2.1, and
I am unable to tune into the channel at all because the
virtual/physical channel mapping is all wrong. I just
get a "no signal detected" message (I'll pause here to
let somebody suggest another antenna).

In years past I've have to modify the XML files
containing the P-V mappings to be able to view any
number of channels, because this Zap2It service is not
reliable and also is missing a lot of channel guide
information. On the same computer I can fire up
the AVerMedia SW (I use their USB tuner) and tune
into the channel just fine and get the OTA guide just
fine. But I can't record because the MPEG-2 recorder
craps out after a few seconds, at least WMC almost
always does the job.

My first job in technology was QC on exactly the kind
of disk drives you show. That was a LOOOOONG
time ago...my latest Seagate 2TB was cheap and held
billions of times more data (well, I'm not doing the
math) and much better overall than a 1TB version I
bought years ago, the first one of which didn't work
at all so I had to return it, and is pretty clunky even
when working...

First, Zap2It does not own the program listings, Tribune Media Services (Now Gracenote) does.

Read the FAQs on the SD website.

http://www.schedulesdirect.org/

Zap2It was created by Tribune Media Services to reduce the scraping of program listings off it's web pages.

When TMS decided to close Zap2It we had to scramble to get a replacement built quickly and now SD servers provide the listings to me because my critical app needs the old format. ($25 / Year)

Somebody got the rights to the Zap2It name and pays TMS / Gracenote for the listings and sells ads on it.

Where you are getting the bogus information that Microsoft gets anything from the website Zap2It is just full of it.

I reported that Zap2It listings were actually free and could be used for our purposes was the start long ago of the main program I use on my HTPC.
