Ask the Rochester folks about the Steelers game (the one played in Toronto) and if they remember if being "bad" as well.

I think it's time we merge with Pittsburgh media. We're just too small and the people that suffer from the inferior product are all of us consumers.

Hell, we're so small that even if we did merge with Pittsburgh we'd only bump them up 2 spots on the list.

The last time I watched Pittsburgh news their 2nd story was about Presque Isle. If they want to cover our news then why not.

I peeked at the Bills game on WSEE DT and it looked horrible compared to the picture quality of both the Steelers on WKBN DT and the Browns on MyYTY. (MyYTV is a WYTV digital sub channel from Youngstown.) I'm glad I wasn't watching the Steelers on KDKA DT because they moved the end of the game to their CW sister station in Pittsburgh for Obama coverage at 10pm. Kudos to WKBN for keeping the game on until the end.

I don't have BTN HD in Millcreek either. Same black screen for OSU, I wanted to see Pryor play, oh well.

I was disappointed yesterday when I could not find the Penn State game after I got home from Erie. I thought there was a change where you'd only be limited to one Big Ten Network game on Dish network Ch. 439 this year. Even if that would have been the case, I was puzzled as to why the Ohio State / Youngstown State game was on instead. I later learned that all of the Big Ten games were on but the alternates were moved to 5440 - 5443.

Will it show up in time for the first Sunday of NFL Football.

I assume the problem of adding 35 to TW HD channel list is on TW Side and not channel 35..

anyone have any new information on this ??

I emailed 35 last nite and am waiting for the response. I'll post as soon as I hear. TW sure looks more incompetent than ever (if that's possible!).

Here's the response from 35 regarding TW's inaction:
"I sent another message off Friday asking how long it was going to be, but haven't
heard back..."

wonder why they didnt get/use the HD feed here?

Gary Drapcho said at the end of sports the other nite that the feed WSEE was getting for the Bills game would not be in HD only feed from CBS would be.

I see right now that 29.1 is HD 29.2 is SD....
Detroit has been coming in a lot more than I would have expected, 7.x WXYZ can
be watched most of the morning and part of the afternoon before it becomes totally
invisible.
*******
What on Earth is this brand new really strange station I have discovered
(and if this is better posted in a more OTA-DTV forum, by all means direct me
there...):

66.1 (19.1 Primary) with the mystery callsign "310M OU" displaying a very vivid
Colour Test Pattern and v ery high-pitched audio tone.... which intermittantly
pulses (goes silent and returns continuous) ... what is it for?
some private transmitter? Who would have such a thing; and how can I learn
more about it? Could it be used by St. Vincent Hospital or what? Just guessing.
Any feedback on this is appreciated. Thank you.
*******
OTA DTV is where the action is at as far as I'm concerned.

I am not too concerned with the 25(+) QAM stations from Eries TW, or the horribly
crappy and embarassing hideous way 12.1 (35.3) looks, and the low-quality of
so-called WQLN-HD looks. [Sorry, I just had to get all that off my chest!]

I have 107 Over-the-Air Digital-TV stations in my log. Anyone have more than that?
And with my digital camera, I am starting to take pictures of the Logo's whenever
possible as confirmation of these stations since I've reached 100+.
(that does include local stations, when they can even be received that is)

Hope everyone had a really nice Labor Day Weekend. I watched 7.2 RTN most
of the time :-) and alternated with several Canadian channels.

RadSurfer; Where are you located? How high up are you?

.
.
Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way. If you like Wi-Fi so much, OTA fits right in. After all, it is wireless.

Below is a reply I received from Channel 35 this morning..I asked them when cable would be picking up the HD Feed from 35 and will it be up and running by the weekend for Football games..College and the NFL..

below is the reply(Not going to include the persons name from 35)

You may have already received an answer to this but I will chime in anyway. It is a day to day situation with Time Warner. We are sending the signal to them in good order. We have made it abundantly clear that we need the HD signal up by the weekend. And now we wait.

I too found the strange station on my Dish DTV Pal at 66-1. It moved Fox 66 to 70-1 because the channel real location is 19-1 while Fox is 22-1. I guess the lower real channel moved other channels up to 70-1 and so on.

It's been a good day for picking up OTA signals today. For me at least.

Digital: 6
23-1 WNLO-DT, CW (HD) (Buffalo, NY)
24-1 WJET-DT
35-1 WSEE-DT, CBS (HD)
35-2 WBEP-DT, CW
35-3 WICU-DT, feed
66-1 WFXP-DT, FOX (HD)

(I've never been able to get 12-1 (no surprise) and 54-1 has been surprisingly difficult lately.)

Analog: 17
10 CFPL 'A' (London, ON)
11 CHCH/E! (Hamilton, ON)
12 WICU, NBC (Erie, PA)
13 CKCO, CTV (London, ON)
17 WNED, PBS (BUffalo, NY)
18 TVOKids, (Ontario)
23 WNLO, CW (Buffalo, NY)
24 WJET, ABC (Erie, PA)
25 (No Signal now)
29 WUTV, FOX (Buffalo, NY)
31 Citytv (Toronto, ON)
35 WSEE, CBS (Erie, PA)
40 CBLN, CBC (London, ON)
42 CKCO, CTV (Sarnia, ON)
51 CHCH/E! (London, ON)
54 WQLN, PBS (Erie, PA)
66 WFXP, FOX (Erie, PA)

That's just with some rabbit ears and aluminum foil. I wish this TV had an add channels feature instead of erasing everytime. I was thinking about getting a rooftop antenna since I live at the top of a hill with a clear view of the lake (no buildings or trees in the way). Would I get the most channels if I were to go with the biggest and strongest or would that be a bad idea?

People with rooftop OTA

How successful at picking up Buffalo HD locals do you think I'd be with this antenna?

I live in Millcreek at the top of a large hill with a clear view of the lake and can often see Canada on a clear day. I plan on mounting it on the peak of my roof which is probably a good 50 ft. up.

I'd like to add a rotor later to mess around and get Cleveland or Pittsburgh(?) but I'm going to settle for Buffalo right now.

I got an analog FOX29 out of Buffalo with just rabbit ears and aluminum foil so I'm hoping my chances are pretty high.

This may be the London, ON re-broadcaster of Toronto's SunTV (CKXT-DT). London's first digital television station

Hello Everyone, New to forum and have read many interesting threads. I receive digital broadcasts OTA and want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Every time WSEE switches to the HD CBS feed the sound becomes "reverby" from the right and left channels and the center cuts out completely. Anyone experience this too? If not any suggestions?
