Is this fallout from the sale of KXJB?

What makes TiVo and Windows Media Center fail to work when it seems to work through my TV's tuner just fine?
My 'duplicate' KXJB listing vanished this evening - and now (like you) I can get the CBS programming on 38-5 without guide data also. A couple other '38' channels showed up on a scan - with a digital signal, but no content.

Until this all gets sorted out - I've just resigned myself to doing manual recordings on 38-5. I haven't had any kind of a response to a query through social media for possible contact info regarding the KXJB engineering department.

Update: Redoing Guided Setup solved the TiVo guide issue. On another matter - the simulcast of KX programming on 11-2 started this morning - with MeTV moving to 11-3. This is *not* reflected in the TiVo guide - so scheduled recordings you may have for MeTV will be recording CBS programming until that is resolved.

I have a question out to a KVLY engineer regarding the permanence of this and whether Tribune has been notified of the guide change.

That is why I had the suggestion that they put CBS on 11-4 (keeping the NTSC channel number alive), and leave the psip alone for 11-1 and 11-2, everyone who is used to tuning those for MeTV and NBC won't have to change...Actually they could program the PSIP to continue to display 4-1 for the CBS stream, but are likely going to put "11" branding on it....

I should play dumb and call their switchboard complaining that I don't get MeTV anymore...I haven't seen any announcements OTA in the last couple of days, but haven't watched much TV either

Their web page still tells people that MeTV is on 11.2:

The bug on the lower right of the screen still identifies it as 11-2 also.

A response back from an engineer states they have notified Tribune and other listings services, so hopefully guides get updated soon. The plan is to keep the simulcast going for approx 2 weeks before shutting down KXJB.

Are both 11-1 and 11-2 in 1080i? If not, what is the new arrangement?

PSIP seems to be missing on KVLY now....NBC is on 44-3, MeTV is on 44-4, CBS is on 44-5.....no virtual channels, program guide, etc..

Zap2it Guide

Well, this should start to get interesting.

Zap2it is the first online guide to now reflect that CBS is on 11.2 -- so this should soon be also reflected on TiVo.

However - Zap2it shows no 11.3 available at all -- which unfortunately should *also* soon be reflected on TiVo.

Strap in, kids. I suspect it will be up to OTA users again to start correcting the items that should have been handled by KVLY during transition.

I haven't even heard a public announcement on KXJB or KVLY about the changes happening. Will they retire the KX4 name now, since both the KX and the 4 will be gone?

why would they? The only folks the change affects is OTA folks
cable it wont affect anything channel number wise.
satellite it wont affect anything channel number wise (Dish already made the call sign change)

They can still call themselves KX4 if they want. Or just Channel 4
