overcast (high humidity) and rain can actually act as a conductor for OTA signals.

I wonder if we will ever get Retro TV back. I heard they had gotten deeply in debt, & is still in legal battles over that debt. They've also been removed in some markets. Guessing there's been no word from Rick Goetz.

I'm not familiar with the situation, or "The Chattanoogan.com," but found this bit of history.

Metv ota

I am considering putting up an outside antenna to try and receive 31.1, METV out of the Nashville area. Does anyone in the Lebanon area receive this channel or am I just wasting my time and money. Thanks...

I'm only 5 miles from it in Donelson. With a roof antenna I've had no luck receiving it on any of my receivers (Dish Vip722k OTA module, 3 TV's, 2 external tuners).

I had wanted Nashville to get Me Tv for several years, so it's been frustrating to not be able to pick it up. It's hard to believe a better station is not the affiliate. Doesn't look like the owners are interested in boosting the power. Me Tv is being wasted in the Nashville area.

It's not as simple as wanting more power. Power levels and other technical attributes are regulated by the FCC.

If Ch 31 is the only reason to buy the antenna, i would not do it. I live 14 miles north of Downtown and have a great antenna on the roof and can only get it now and then. It is really low power and I doubt if you could pull it in from Lebanon.

I talked to an engineer at WTVF several months ago, and they could not get channel 31.1 or any subs at the station on James Robertson Parkway.

I understood WJDE was to increase power in early 2014, but I guess it did not happen.

I e-mailed WJDE this was the response "Still working on a power increase. If we can get on Cable in Nashville, we’ll be in good shape to increasepower."

Its a "Catch 22" cable or satellite will add a low power station to its lineup, a power increase would have to come first.

AT&T Uverse in Nashville carries Me Tv, but it's not quite the same as cable. I don't see satellite carrying it around here, although it has been on satellite in some other cities. Xfinity carries This Tv on their digital package, so maybe there's a chance they could add Me Tv sometime.

If they were to become a full power station service providers Dish, Direct, Charter & Comcast would all be required to carry the primary channel 31.1. They might even produce some revenue for the station.

To bad the Lebanon station (44.1 or 44.2) want pick up METV or Antenna TV, they have the capability to carry two or three more multi channels. They could actually broadcast something worth occasionally watching.

How many channel of Home Shopping Club do you need in one city? That's the biggest duplication.

I have rabbit ears looking at the L&C from a second story window on Music Row...
I can watch 31.1 ... the signal will pixilate even at this distance. wow.

I've never understood why WJFB 44.1 & 44.2 shows the same thing. Including channel 66 on Dish, that's 3 channels. They have a pretty good ota signal, wish they would add something else to one of them. There are 2 new ota stations fixing to launch also. Maybe they will head this way sometime.

Hey, y'all. I live in Memphis, and we get Antenna TV and Me-TV. Our affiliate dropped Retro TV for MeTV in 2011.

I understand Retro TV is available in Nashville over WRTN 6.2. Beginning this fall, I need someone to record The Doctors, which will be shown in an hour block sometime in the afternoon. These are rare reruns of the 60s soap opera, not the current medical talk show. Anyway, if anyone on here wants to strike a deal, message me. I can record anything from Antenna or Me-TV for in exchange for you recording The Doctors for me.

Thanks!

Update: Retro TV site is incorrect. They have WRTN listed as being in Nashville, but I see it's actually in Alexandria! Back to the drawing board...

Retro has been off the air for a while here. The local affliliate has been showing Country Clips where Retro is supposed to be. Retro's days may be numbered, if you look back a bit in this thread, they've had some issues (the actual network, not just the local affiliate) so it may not be coming back to this market.

Thanks. I double checked after my post and saw that Retro's website has it incorrectly listed. I'll have to get it from another market like Atlanta or Dallas or Little Rock.

Anyone having issues with fox ota tonight? Normally I get it dine but tonight it's very spotty... in and out. HD home run reports fluctuating symbol and signal quality. Signal strength stays at 100%, but the other two metrics fluctuate. I get symbol quality in the 75% range and symbol quality at 100%, and this will stay for 30 seconds, and then all of a sudden it's 0% on both.

Talking about Me-TV on a Facebook page, someone said about the Nashville affiliate "Nashville's Me-TV affiliate is on a low power station, it's as strong as it ever will be. No other station wants Me-TV so it's on the lp til whenever." Well, it's hard to believe another, better station passed on Me-TV here. Cozi TV is the best station right now around here showing classic tv shows. For some reason 6.4 & 6.5 keeps showing the same episodes of their programming over & over, so I don't even watch those channels now.

What I don't understand is why only UVerse TV can offer METV but no cable or satellite provider can or does. It should be made available to the entire market not just the "select". It appears the bandwidth is available but no one seems to be interested in carrying anything except duplicate Home Shopping Channels and American One network channel on both the .1 and .2 channels. Do the reto channels (METV and Antenna TV) really cost that much to re-transmit? thats my two cents.....
