The post on this link may not mean anything, but I would prefer Grit TV over WeatherNation.

https://www.facebook.com/MusicCityTelevision

WZTV has this Titan tv listing.

retrotv, I agree with you.

I checked Trip's RabbitEars.info website on the Nashville market listing. He still has Grit down as coming soon, but we all know anything can happen until the new programming is actually being broadcast.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and a great Thanksgiving!

It's entirely possible both are being added. In Baltimore, WeatherNation was added to 45-2, bumping This TV to 45-3 and ZUUS Country went away (Grit is coming to WUTB in Baltimore, also operated by Sinclair). It could be that WeatherNation actually is coming to WZTV and Grit will replace ZUUS Country on WNAB or get added as a -3 to one of Sinclair's stations.

I just checked RabbitEars and it showed WeatherNation as 17.2 and Grit TV as 58.2. The Zuus country channel doesn't show up as a Nashville subchannel any more. I'm guessing 58 is dropping it and replacing it with Grit TV.

Sinclair has dropped ZUUS Country in several markets now so I would be very surprised if they spent the money to put new equipment in to keep it going.

I suspect local channel 44 is not America One any longer. I think it is called Pursuit TV.

The America One website does not display a programming schedule.

44.1 Changed to Pursuit TV about 2 months ago. 44.2 stayed America One for a while but has become a channel called You Too America in the last few weeks.

Thanks for the info, lug1!

My antenna system is currently down, and I was checking out America One online.

BTW, if anyone can recommend a reliable antenna system installer/repairer, please PM me!

Thank you, and have a great weekend!

I have really enjoyed Pursuit TV on 44.1. A lot of good hunting programming that is current. Guide populates perfect in Windows Media Center. I really tried to get into America One but I always felt like I was watching something that was 5 years old.

Well, WeatherNation is finally on the air on WZTV 17.2. ZUUS Country is still on WNAB 58.2. So, I don't know when GritTV will be taking over on 58.2.

WeatherNation has been off the air at least since last night for me and is still off. Any ideas? I saw the weather guy on Fox 17 talk about the channel last night so this has to be temporary?

Thanks, kbuke! Great news!

I noticed Trip has it as "soon" on his market listing for WKRN in the Nashville market (#34)!

I'm happy it will be on a better network. However I still wish we could get Antenna TV, I just don't know where it could go now. Would also like the Movies! channel. Wish WKRN would go ahead and make the switch now, but at least it will be watchable.

I'm glad to see it go on a full power station also. More people will be able to watch it as well as WKRN will broadcast it better. Channel 31 lets their ads run into the program as well as have a different volume. I also wish we could get Antenna tv and Movies!

If WTVF would drop ThisTV, AntennaTV could go there. ThisTV has never been really popular in my household anyway. Right now, I'm just thrilled that we are finally getting some decent family programming that we ALL can watch, not just Nashville proper.

Maybe WSMV will add another sub in the future? They only have Heartland now!

Fox 17 could add another, too.

BUT, would they need to reduce the picture quality of the primary HD channel? Maybe Trip could explain this?

I hope the best to you all this holiday season, and I hope you all have a great 2015!

WSMV has been pretty conservative in the past on sub-channel usage. As far as HD signal degradation, I honestly can't tell much difference when watching WTVF, which has two sub-channels. The picture still looks very clear and detailed in 1080i. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

I agree with you about ThisTV, I hardly ever watch anything on that channel. I really don't care for the movies they show. I wouldn't mind if it were replaced with Movies!

WSMV is, to my knowledge, running Mobile DTV in addition to the 4-1 and 4-2 you guys see. If they turned that off, it still wouldn't be enough bandwidth for a third channel, which means that they would indeed have to turn down the main channel a bit more.

There would also be an investment in equipment needed, such as for EAS and the encoding equipment, and Meredith corporate has historically stayed away from subchannel networks in general. I was at Luken when the Heartland (then-TNN) deal happened and while the local Nashville people were terrific, I can't say the same for corporate.

Have a great one!

I had forgotten about the mobile TV. In this case you would be correct. A couple of years ago I was talking with an ex-employee of WSMV and was told, as you said, that Meredith cares very little about WSMV. I would not be surprised if they tried to rid themselves of it with ample opportunity.

Merry Christmas Trip
