Latest from WKRN-TV

As of this morning, January 22, WKRN is tentatively setting the date of April 15th as their start for airing the Me-TV channel. Just got off the phone with them and they said -hopefully- that would be the day to watch for the change over, as they are still trying to sort out the details with Me-TV officials. They did say to 'hang in there' as it would be done at some point.

She did say that all of the people at WKRN were really anxious for it to happen, but they can't do anything until corporate gets its head together. She was very apologetic, but said they were moving ahead and did not give me a date.

Corporate Level? Hope they don't change their mind.

Well, I haven't gotten my external antenna wiring fixed yet, but I have installed an RCA ANT1700F interior antenna at the top of a window in the den (inside of the window).

I got the antenna at Big Lots for $34.99 with tax.

Performance is good sometimes, and terrible other times. (At this time, I cannot get channel 4.)

It IS good to be back on OTA!

Have a great day!

As of right now the Live Well programs are listed again, but the channel says ABC instead of Live Well.

An update on the antenna installation!

In the den, there are two double-hung windows, paired together. The antenna was installed in the left window, at the top, on the left side of the window. With this location, there are bare tree branches directly in line with the transmitters and the antenna.

I moved the antenna to the right window, installed at the top , on the right side. This location moved the antenna just right of the tree branches. Signal quality improvement is very noticeable on all channels, both analog and digital. WSMV is much better, with minimal pixelation. WRTN is much better. There are no longer any "no signal" messages on the screen. There is some pixelation at times. In addition, I can now get both WTVF channel groups, with the TV showing on channel 5 and channel 25.

It is amazing how much change there is with a 4.5 foot movement!

Have a great day!

Moving from Nashville to Spring hill soon and will probably need to replace my clearstream 2. What VHF channels are still in Nashville and what is a good antenna for ~19-35miles. Right now im using a Clearstream 2 /w VHF bar and a preamp.

edit: maybe my clearstream 2v will work fine, Says 50 mile range. Wonder if thats for VHF and UHF.

Well, I live in Spring Hill, just south of Saturn Parkway, and I've been having very nice results with a UHF 8-bay up about 25 feet, a Channel Master 4228.

I'm using RG-6 from the antenna to the 4-way TV splitter in the attic. It 's a pretty directional antenna, so I played around with it for a bit and found that aiming it just off due south, (about 170 degrees) did a good job in receiving Huntsville's WZDX 54.3 (MeTV), and WHNT 19.2 (Antenna TV), and a few others. From the backside, Nashville's stations all come in very well with good signal strength.

I'm no doubt missing stations off to the side (the null) of the antenna. I don't currently have a VHF antenna on the tower.

Anyway, with a little work, Spring Hill is a good location for a lot of OTA TV.
