Can someone explain why TV programmers put the same thing on two subchannels of the same signal? If you get one suchannel, you will be able to pick up all of them (the WTVF set up, being different, of course).

I'm sorry, but can you elaborate for me, because I can only think of WJFB 44 that does that. By the way, I think WJFB is back on the air, because I can detect, but not enough to decode the signal.

44.1 and 44.2 are back to TCT. I miss Pursuit TV as well. I called the station about it and the guy didn't seem interested at all in trying to bring it back. Pursuit TV was populating great in Media Center and I was recording a bunch of their shows. It seems like it would be a great subchannel for someone. The funny part was when they switched to TCT my hunting show recordings changed to religious shows. Instead of "Green Back Tactical Hunters" is was my cousin and his wife who have a show on TCT. I hadn't seen them in many years!

I just saw an info screen on 6.4 that coming August 1, This TV will start on 6.1. This confirms NashDigie's info on post 3910. I hope The Works will be coming before August!

I do too since The Works is already available. I wish he would replace REV'N with it, & before Aug.

While channel surfing today, I came across the end of an ad on Live Well 2.3 for the new LAFF network. Anyone else see that? Thought that was a little odd. Is WKRN now planning to replace Live Well with LAFF? WTVF 5 has indicated they would likely air LAFF starting Aug. 1. Maybe the ad was just airing on the Live Well national feed because ABC O&O stations (which are supposed to be the only ones still airing Live Well) also now air LAFF.

Yes, the Laff ad you saw was on the ABC O&O feed of Live Well to its own stations, as they also carry Laff. This again makes me wonder outloud if the stations really know LW still airs on WKRN. You would think they would, but it has happened in the past (but I don't believe any of these parties were involved) because of Subchannel Indifference.

Scripps this morning has issued a press release announcing additional agreements between its stations and the Katz family of diginets. Within the release is the first public announcement that Laff is coming to the Nashville market via WTVF. No starting date was indicated.

The target audience for LAFF is the 18-49 age group. Leaves me out.

Just wanted to say that I have a couple of corner-reflector yagi TV antennas (Antop UHF-262) rated for 40-60 mile reception. Bought them online recently, played around with them but ultimately decided against using and don't want to bother shipping them back. I'm selling at $25 for one or $40 for both. Please private message me if interested, thanks.

Good news, fans of Quantum Leap, Miami Vice, Magnum P.I. and Murder She Wrote. Just spoke with WSMV and as of today they plan to launch COZI TV on 4.3 on Monday, June 1. With two sub channels, though, let's just hope they don't bit-starve it the way that WTVF does with This TV on 5.3.

Now if I'm WKRN/Media General, I'd try to get MeTV out there this weekend to beat WSMV/Metedith to the air with a retro subchannel. However, I don't think stations/groups have competitive spirits anymore, not even with breaking news (since it all seems to be breaking news these days anyway).

Unfortunately DirecTV has stopped adding OTA channels to their electronic program guide so I won't be able to record the new channel like I can 4-1 and 4-2.

I recently sent an email to Rick Goetz, concerning the power levels on channel 6. I live in south Murfreesboro, and have never been able to lock on to a solid, steady signal for that particular channel and its subchannels.

Rick sent a reply back, stating that he hopes to increase the power from 300 to 3,000 watts later this summer.

He also stated that he has heard of Antenna TV and that it sounds like a fantastic addition to the lineup.

I read today that LWN is still on 15 stations, 6 owned by Media General. That's 15 too many. As for Antenna tv, Rick said he's tried to get it, but they didn't want to make a deal with a low power station. Maybe if he increases power things could change. He said several years ago he was going to increase power and it never happened. Hopefully this time he will.

Happy Memorial Day

I also emailed Rick last week telling him about the signal problem since we last spoke. He asked me to let him "tweak" the signal (he did this once before) and see if it helped. Can't say it did this time. He has not mentioned the 3000 watts increase but I sure hope he does. BTW, can someone tell me if 5000 is still the maximum for LP stations?

There's info down the page under Television. Seems to indicate 3,000 (3 kw) watts for VHF, & 15 kilowatts for UHF.

I live in Hermitage, and I am getting 6 virtual/7 physical at the best I have seen on my indoor, window-mounted antenna setup. (Installed in February.)

My two worst channels are 4 virtual/10 physical & 8.

Consider yourself lucky if your only getting the same thing on 2 channels. I receive a low power channel 11 out of Athens alabama that has 4 channels playing the same thing The only plus is that its Cozi tv
