I noticed last night that WLOO-DT 35 has a second subchannel now.

35.2 carries Soul of the South Television. Here is the description from their page:

Soul of the South Television is a super-regional television network dedicated to covering the events, lifestyles, and culture of African-American Southerners. Soul of the South features a unique mix of news, dramas, comedies, feature films, court shows, music, documentaries, and talk shows. These programs reflect the history, vitality, and institutions of the South and the critical role its sons and daughters played in building our country.

I can't speak for Mr. Bondurant, but there should be plenty of bandwidth to have MeTV on 16.2 and move Radar to 16.3.

Personally, I hope they keep the radar channel, since WLBT and WJTV took theirs down a while back. I find it helpful to be able to quickly get to a local radar image.

Also, the following was posted on radiodiscussions.com 9 days ago, but the configuration might change slightly after the MeTV announcement:
-------------------------------------
Raycom Media has an agreement to carry two new digital over-the-air broadcast television networks, the female-centric "Escape" and the male-centric "Grit", in Jackson when they launch next Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM CDT.

Escape TV (www.escapetv.com/) will air on channel 3.3. "Escape is an all-new television network with movies and series that are daring, sexy and anchored in stories of crime and mystery." Escape (For Women) will feature daring and sexy stories of crime, justice and mystery. Escape will also feature true crime series, including Snapped, Unsolved Mysteries, Forensic Files and others. The complete Escape schedule can be found @ www.escapetv.com/tv-schedule/ .

Grit TV (www.grittv.com/) will air on channel 40.3. "Grit is the all-new network television home for your favorite bold, brave and legendary action heroes!" Grit (For Men) will be built around the classic male hero with a focus on western, war and action movies. Grit will also feature the western television series, The Cisco Kid. The complete Grit schedule can be found @ www.grittv.com/tv-schedule/ .

Unfortunately, it appears that "This TV" will no longer be available in Jackson, as it has been airing on channel 3.3. (Hopefully, someday WAPT will add another sub-channel in addition to its radar.)

In summary, the following is how WLBT and WDBD will look next Monday:

3-1 WLBT-NBC
3-2 Bounce TV
3-3 Escape

40-1 WDBD-FOX
40-2 Me-TV (edit: will be Cozi TV around 9/1)
40-3 Grit
--------------------------------------------------------

Despite the Raycom announcement, Escape and Grit have yet to appear on those channels.

The first of the Jackson subchannel changes is complete:

MeTV has moved from 40.2 to 16.2, replacing the Radar channel
CoziTV is now airing on 40.2

Now the question is when will 3.3 go from ThisTV to EscapeTV and 40.3 be added with GritTV...

Another question to be answered, will USM score when on SECession?

When not on the SEC Net?

So I guess I need to rescan my locals on Directv (AM21) to add 40-2? Ok, I can do that, ha. Thanks for the heads up.

Actually, you shouldn't have to rescan for 40.2 or 16.2 unless you didn't have them already stored in the configuration. It looks like they maintained the same PSID and just informed Tribune of the programming changes so that guide information would be changed accordingly.

I have two 722k receivers and didn't have to rescan. I did change the subchannel names manually, though, to reflect the changes.

Once 40.3 is added, you will need to rescan then. My receiver allows for adding a single channel without a full scan, so I'll be taking that option when the time comes.

Well, I don't have a 40.2, and when I rescanned, I still did not get 40.2. That is a problem with the AM21 I understand? Anyway, no biggee. Of course, I could add a secondary OTA city that had a 40.2, I guess.

Lost 3-1,3-2,3-3

Over the weekend, 31 Aug, WLBT’s channels started fading outon me here, about 15 miles north of the Reservoir. By Labor Day, no signal whatsoever. Called the station to find out if theirsignal strength has been reduced but had to leave a message with no responseback as of yet. Anyone have any ideawhat is up or is it just my antenna with effect to WLBT channels only?

No, you are not the only one. I live off Old Fannin Road just north of the Flowood city limits. I have lost about 20 signal strength points on WLBT. The other stations have held steady.

As a result, I am not able to maintain a lock on it now.

Think they reduced the OTA signal, so DirecTV customers will complain all the more?

Heard they didn't reach an agreement with them.

Yeah, Raycom channels have been blacked out since 11pm Central 8/31. I sure hope WLBT wouldn't sink so low as to cut broadcast power, but the timing of it does make me wonder. Seems like stations are supposed to report to the FCC if they significantly change the amount of power used to broadcast....

According to a Twitter response, they were having transmission issues and their engineers were working on it. Since Monday morning, I have had no issues with it. That morning though, I had no signal. But just north of the Rez, it is fine now.

WLBT is back to the upper 80s on signal strength, so it's back to normal for me.

SEC Alternate Channels on Comcast:

710 & 711 HD

708 & 709 SD

Now, if they just pick up the PAC-12 in HD (SD Channel 712) & the Pronghorn Net in both...

Southern Miss scored on Alcorn State & won by 6...
