watching bernie mac tonight and couldn't believe that it wasn't HD. So I switched my htl-hd to native output and sure enough, it was 720p. I wonder how many fox affiliates have done this?

Fox is moving west to east installing the "bit splicer" at the O&Os and the affiliates. KTTV is done. By the end of the year all of the stations that are transmitting digital should have the gear.

Fox is now transmitting in 720p in Houston instead of their standard widescreen 480p? Guess I haven't seen this yet. I must admit though, FOX is only good for one thing: the NFL. I probably wouldn't notice the change until the NFL season starts.

I think they are still receiving programming from fox in 480p, but is then upconverted to 720p with the affilliates equipment. Correct me if I am wrong. I could definitely tell a difference.

Fox doesn't begin distributing 720p until September.

The HD link will not go hot until August 2nd with the first HD programming on Sept 12th. Until then, the stations are passing along FOX as they always have been, just it is 720p instead of 480p.

The only OTA digital channel we in San Antonio have for Fox is SD. I hope they move HD broadcasting over here too. Then I will have to worry about receiving the channel because I find it it difficult (well the antenna is just on top of my TV, there is plenty I can do to improve it).
