KUVS is off the air this afternoon. First time I've seen if off. KOFY comes in quite nicely without the adjacent channel interference.

Yes, I noticed..darn it. Did some fixes to that server.. it is back on again. Hopefully the owner of that channel is ordering a faster server so that it won't happen so much.

Here's another one.....

KMMW has a black screen. The transmitter is on the air but no programming. I don't know how long but it has been an extended period.

K03HY channel 3 from Mt. Tam is still off the air. Has any programming returned to KFTY 45 (RF2)?

Thanks. I e-mailed the person listed on their last FCC submission but that will likely go unanswered.

No. I just checked it this afternoon. Same as before, black screens with a good SNR on KFTY and KCSO now with a 31 dB SNR.

I wonder what happened? No sign of Keith for some time now.

It's weird that he hasn't done something about the problems. If channel 2 is black, I bet all of the other stations in his daisy chain are black too.

Now KMMW is even worse. My TV reports "Signal cannot be decoded" so the screen is simply blank. If I didn't check the diagnostic screen I'd think there was no signal at all. Maybe it'll go off the air completely and I can do some channel 28 DXing.

KMMW has always been a wasted channel, a single 480i and nothing else. How does a station like this make enough money to stay on the air?

Yes it is a fill-in for the woeful KCSO main transmitter on RF Ch.3.

I've found that low VHF requires an outdoor antenna. Anything indoors is hopeless. And then there's the manmade noise issue. I don't have a lot of noise so reception is pretty good.

TV Fool says KCSO has 17 watts ERP in my direction. I'm off the back of its antenna. Take a look at the spectrum analyzer trace. The power varies wildly across the channel. Who knows what level is 17 watts. :roll eyes: It doesn't affect the SNR much which is normally 31 dB until K03HY on Mt. Tamalpias comes on and interferes with it.

OTOH, KFTY RF 2 on Mt. St. Helena is 3KW and averages SNR 22 dB. I think that's not bad for 119 miles. The attached image is SNR 23 dB in the rain tonight.
