KYNM-LD
30.3 Retro TV
RF Channel 51

KNMQ-LD

I can sometimes get KCHF-DT RF Channel 10 which is a mirror of KYNM_LD.

Last night's signals on my HDHomeRun
10: 70% strength, 49% signal quality, 100% symbol quality
43: 84% strength, 65% signal quality, 100% symbol quality
51: 82% strength, 58% signal quality, 100% symbol quality

I ordered a Solid Signal HDB91X antenna to replace the existing antenna in hopes of increasing the signal strength and quality of 43 and 51. Any idea if this will work or what a better antenna alternative might be?

TVFool shows the following from my location:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...ec2f158344d963

I've got Comcast cable so the only channels that I don't get from them that looked interesting OTA are Retro TV and Antenna TV. I'd love to also get COZI TV but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere near here OTA.

What are people in Los Alamos successfully using for OTA?
It turns out I didn't have my preamp set to combined UHF/VHF so only the UHF channels were getting any amplification. Now that I fixed that, I'm getting a strong signal on all of the VHF channels including channel 10 (KCHF-DT) so I don't need KYNM-LD. I'm still curious what people in Los Alamos are using for antennas though.

Big news on KTEL-LP and K46GY LP, both are analog channels ch. 47 and 46 will go off the air and flash cut to digital rf ch, 15.1 on 9-8-14 or sooner depending on testing on the new channel.

As for KRTN-LD, they are going off the air or running very low power, so don't worry about losing your fav, ME-TV show!

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...fac_num=198104

Now the weird thing other new digital ch. 16.1 has a new call letter KUPT LD on date time is unknown at this time.

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws...fac_num=198113

As for the rest of other stations on adding new sub channels or new LD station is unknown at this time.

That's the news!

Funny thing happen on KTEL-LP, their window slate got froze up meant for warning analog TV viewer that their analog ch. 47 was to go of the air on 9-2-14, but still on the air! Window video player got froze up that was to show warnings in Spanish and English. Last time I checked there are still on the air. I have yet to seen any testing of new digital ch. 15.1 testing yet, they plan go full time on on 9-8-114 or there anyrate at this time....

As for other stations KUTP-LD, is still mystery to me are they going to replace KRTN-LD rf 39.1 to ch . 16.1 to KUTP-LD or create a new 3rd new station?

Any ideas?

Well, KTEL-LP and K46GR-LP, went finally off the air today! Still no sign of testing of KTEL-LD rf ch. 15.1 yet so far, so hang in there!

So far KTFL-LD rf ch. 48 is still off the air, KQDF-LP analog ch. 25 is still on the air and KYNM-LP analog rf ch. 30 is also still on the air.

Same thing for K38AM-LP analog rf. ch 38 is still on the air.

What wrong with Smilies on this website? I am missing my happy face! Webmaster please fix it thanks!

Thanks for the updates N5XZS. Since moving about a year ago, I haven't gotten around to putting up an OTA antenna, too busy getting the sat dishes set up. But with all the changes, I may have to stick something up this weekend.

KRTN-LD has a directional antenna that sends very little signal toward Santa Fe and Los Alamos. They have a CP to change to an omnidirectional antenna. Once they do that, I may finally be able to receive them.

Don't know about KUTP-LD, but very interesting.

Breaking News!

KTEL-LD, has gone on the air this morning on fr ch. 15 Temundeo HD with 720p!! And not only that KUTP-LD on rf ch 16, 16.1 is testing and the programing is unknown at this time 16.2 now showing GET TV all classic TV shows and movies 16.3 showing color bars for soon to be Movies!. KRTN-LD will stay on rf ch 39 for ME-TV 31.1 I think Telemundeo ch 39.2 and will move to KTEL-LD rf ch 15 Jewlry-TV will stay on 39.3.

I am hoping KUTP-LD will carry GRITT-TV on 16.1.

Both stations are running at 15 KW ERP.

They are fine tuning so take your time.

Thanks for the news, N5XZS. I'm receiving both RF 15 and 16 fine here in the Jemez Mtns, about 45 miles from the Crest.

For the first time I'm also receiving RF 39, so they must be on their new antenna. Last weekend they were still to weak to get a lock. Looking at the FCC license info, it appears that 15, 16 and 39 are sharing the same transmit antenna.

I'm using a home brew 4 bay antenna at only 8 feet above ground along with a Channel Master CM7777 preamp and a Zenith DTT901 converter box.

All the low power digital stations, RF 15, 16, 36, 39, 43, and 51 come in fine, only about 10 to 15% weaker than the full power stations. They should be receivable many places in Santa Fe and Los Alamos with a modest rooftop antenna.

I noticed lots of bad pixelating on RF 15, hopefully they will get that fixed soon.

Rf channel 16 KUTP-LD, still have some problems, since my signal meter is bouncing like crazy! But however the rf ch. 15 and 39 looks fine. Can't wait to see if KTEL-LD add some new sub channels.

No news on rf ch. 48 going to digital flash cut..... Yet to be seen other than that just keep TV DXing away..

KUTP-LD, fr ch. 16.1 is still struggling, but however start seeing pictures here and there. The signal strength at one time was steady 68 % for a few minutes and the bad news they went back to signal bouncing back and forth going from 0 to 72%.

Oh well, we will have to ride it out for the time being.

As for the other stuffs going on is no news at this time.

Thanks for the updates N5XZS. I was able to lock in KTEL 15, but it seems to be off the air again now. No luck on KUTP.

Here's a couple of other changes I've noticed: It looks like KTVS 36.3 has given up on the obscure Trine-TV and switched over to another religious broadcaster. If it has an affiliation, I haven't seen what it is.

KNMQ has added 43.6 with a standard definition version of KCHF. 43.11 is now broadcasting 720p, but so far all I've seen them have is SD programming from KCHF that been stretched out horizontally to fit the screen and looks distorted. Maybe they'll add some actual HD programming later.

Sorry been out touch for updating Albuquerque's TV market.....

We got a brand new station on RF ch. 16.1 KUTP-LD now showing H&I on 16.1 with 720p. GETV is on 6.2 and Movies! on 16.3. This station runs at 15 KW ERP on Sandia Crest Mountain.

KTEL-LD is now on RF ch. 15.1 Telmundeo 720P but no new subchannel yet also runs at 15 KW ERP.

KRTN-LD still on the air on FR ch. 39.1 still carring ME-TV 39.1 and Jewlry 39.2 also runs at 15 KW ERP.

As for rest of other stations no new updates at this time.....

H&I has been gone from 16.1 for at least a week. KUPT has gone back to having Movies! on both .1 and .3. I guess that affiliation didn't work out and they'll be switching to another network at some point.

Breaking news!! KASA-DT will be carrying Cozi on July the 1st it will be on rf ch. 27.2 or remapped ch. 2.2. The other breaking news is KYNM-LD rf ch. 51 is now testing rf ch. 21.1 the signal is breaking up so I am thinking they are running at low power, so that's means they are not at full 15 KW ERP at this time. An the same time KTEL -LD is off the air on rf ch. 15 for the time being don't worry they will be back on the air soon.

It looks like they may be starting today with COZI. I am watching Starsky and Hutch at the moment. The 4-2 appeared a couple of hours ago as I was switching channels, with the ID but no pictiure or sound. Programming seems to be up and running at the moment.

Cozi it's on KASA-DT ch.2.2 or RF ch. 27.2 right now, nice they decided put it on the air June the 1st instead of July the 1st! As for the other stations KYNM-CD is still having some problem moving to a new rf ch. 21.1 "will be remapped as 30.1".

Still no news on rf ch 25 KQDF-lP analog on going flash cut to digital or lose their licensees from the FCC. Same goes for KTFA-LP rf ch. 48 LP and also K38IM rf ch. 38 flash cut to rf ch. 14.1 digital.

As for any new future sub channels is unknown at this time, so hang in there!

Only Class A stations are mandated to be digital by September 1, 2015. None of the above stations are Class A, so they can remain analog until the FCC sets a date for LPTV stations.

I use www.TitanTV.com to chart out what I'll watch in the coming week, and using it yesterday (June 5), I discovered COZI. I'm glad COZI just started -- that I haven't been missing shows I could have been recording. They do have a website and ask for one's zipcode so viewers can figure out what they want to watch -- a wide range of westerns, 60s-90s action/adventure shows (It Takes a Thief!), comedies, too much Lucy, etc. Best of all, it comes in very well here where I am, downtown between the big buildings and the Zoo, but Fox/2 always comes in good, so I'm not very surprised (just quite happy)

33.1 - UHF 39 - KRTN SD - MeTV:
It is working great here in Los Alamos where it couldn't be received at all before.

2.2 - UHF 27 - COZI-TV
This channel is also a welcome addition. WMC doesn't have guide data for it though.

43.1 - UHF 43 - KNMQ-LD - Antenna TV

30.3 - UHF 51 - KYNMLD3 - Retro TV

MeTV is on Cable; COZI-TV was partially broadcast on Dish Network. I don't think Antenna TV or Retro TV are on Cable or Satellite. It's nice being able to get all of these oldies stations via OTA.

I just found Buzzr, the game show network, on 33.2 with JewelryTV moved to the new KRTN subchannel 33.3.

Since KTEL 15.1 is finally a fully-licensed digital station, I assume they will turn off 47.1 at some point so they can add even more subchannels to KRTN, but Telemundo is currently still on both channels.

I've been trying to notice what is shown on KUPT while I'm flipping around. Sometimes Movies! is on both 16.1 and .3 and sometimes 16.3 is H&I, which is what is supposed to be on that subchannel. I noticed today that H&I is showing, but Movies! is on both 16.1 and .2 with no GetTV. I wonder why they don't have all three subchannels showing their intended affiliations consistently.

There's a crawl on KYNM today asking viewers to rescan for channel 21 to continue receiving their programming. I did so and found 21.1 through .5, but the signal is so weak and broken on my set that it's unwatchable.

I also found that the rescan solved my problem with KUPT. All the subchannels are now carrying the appropriate networks.

Here in Los Alamos, the signal strength went down about 10 points compared to what was on 51 but the signal quality went up a little bit on average. It seems fine for viewing at the moment.

KYNM is now coming in clearly on channel 21 with a slightly higher signal strength than 30 (51).

KTEL, on the other hand, has suddenly gotten so weak I can no longer lock on it. I guess this explains why KRTN is keeping 47.1, although they've switched it over to standard definition.

I noticed that channel 30 was finally deactivated, so I decided to get rid of it by rescanning. I was worried that KNMQ might not lock since the signal from it has been very weak for a while. When the scan was complete, I was running through the channels and saw that 43 was not included, but was surprised that KCHF 11 locked in for the first time with a fairly strong signal. Since they both carry the same programming, I don't care which I receive so long as I get one of them.
