The engineer's name is Bill Lough and his email is wlough@wytv.com I'm sure he could answer your question about their transmit power.

I'm a bit further out at 45 miles. Maybe you could have him read this forum, it seems many people have been having the jumping video problem, including me on a rare occasion.

I told him about the forum and sent him a link to it in an email. On the phone, he did not sound very interested in exploring it. If you decide to contact him about the power level, please let us know his response.

As much as I'd *personally* like to see the Y-town digitals in Akron...

There's a reason they're not all that interested in helping us get their station: we're not in their market. WYTV (and the others) gain nothing by having us as a viewer. Now, many folks, like 21's engineer who posts here, are very nice and polite and helpful...but the 40-to-45 miles we're trying to get them at, is not in their actual market...

I did get a very nice reply from the station engineer. He stated they were running at the full FCC alloted power from their permanent antenna.

What you get is what you got!

Has anyone else checked to see if you get CBS's feed (WKBN ch 41)? Is anyone succesfully receiving in in the Hermitage/Sharon, PA area?

I noticed they are now listed on the Antennaweb site and are awaiting a FCC permit.

This is the first time I see this issue and none of the other OTA channels seem to have this problem (NBC,WB and PBS).

I thought I posted this the other night, but i guess not. Any severe audio problems on channel 33? Dish network 921, Yamaha 5640 amp and all local programming has real muddy audio at least 13 db below normal. Many national shows exhibit the same. All other locals work perfectly. Located in New Castle, talked with Bill Lough one day from work and he said I was the first complaint.

TWC NEO added WOIO in HD at least over here (Akron/Canton) a while back. There's even an article about it on the WOIO website, though I can't find where they hid it now.

I don't know if TWC NEO offers WOIO in HD over in Newton Falls. It would appear so, looking at the lineup online.

Yeah the lineup says its there, I dont have a TWC HD box, mostly because it never had CBS. I guess that could change now. I'll have to check it out.
Does WOIO-HD signal drop out alot?

I don't have TWC, so I can't tell ya...I have Adelphia. It doesn't appear to have any more problems than any other DT station...

My guess would be not until they are absolutely, positively forced too.

I thought that WKBN was in some sort of limbo as the owners of it are trying to sell the station, and until that happens, nothing as far as a digital/HD station is concerned is out the window.

This also includes WYFX(FOX) out of Ytown/Masury.

We are all SOL until then.

Here we come 2009.

I believe WKBN is required to have a full-power digital signal by what, July 2006?

Of course, that doesn't mandate HD.

WYFX won't be digital at all for some time. Digital LPTV stations are only now starting to come on in very limited numbers. Right now, the only ones under the new rules are some translators in Norfolk, VA. Most folks think LPTVers will have to "flash cut" on their existing channel...i.e. to convert to digital, WYFX/WFXI will have to turn off the analog transmitters on 17 and 62 and turn on digital transmitters on the same channels.

Since WKBN doesn't seem to be in any hurry to go digital/HD on their main station, I'm sure they're also in no hurry to do that on their FOX LPTV duo.

TV21CHIEF,

Using my indoor antenna yesterday, I was EASILY receiving both DTV of WFMJ and of WBCB as of 7/2/05.

Now on my local cable co. channels(Adelphia), I was receiving WFMJ, but ZERO on the WBCB as of today(7/3/05).

I haven't checked it yet today, so I don't know if both are still up and running via OTA Digital/HD.

Our studio took a pretty good power hit this morning that blew up our upconverter. I'm supposed to have a loaner here tomorrow, but until then we will be SD 480i onlyboth OTA and cable.

Has anyone see The Tube, broadcasting on WUAB DT 28-2? This channel looks promising. Like the old MTV, nothing but videos. I just noticed it today. It is also on TWC Warren area number 546.

Once in a while the Steelers are on instead of the Browns. At least as long as I remember, the Browns have pretty much always been on WKBN, unless they played at different times (or networks), then the Steelers and Browns games are both on.

maybe. WKBN will carry WYFX FOX as a subchannel. WFMJ carries WBCB on it's subchannel.
