WGMB is on channel 99-15 or 99.15, depending on the set. See if you can manually type it in. I just checked the QAM TS and sure enough the PSIP is missing, the PSIP is NOT missing via OTA. Also WBRL HD is also on channel 98-18 or 98.18.

Where do you live? If you still can't get Fox via QAM you can probably pick them up OTA via a cheap antenna due to their smokin' signal.

Hi,
I live in Metairie, about 2 miles south of MSY. I've always had a "rock steady" signal from WBRZ with my CM 4228. Today, just to insure that I won't loose the Super Bowl tomorrow (with a gang of folks coming over), I added the CM 7775 UHF amp. We raised the antenna back up (about 30 ft. from the ground). 33.1, 44.1 and 27.1 are clear and steady, but WBRZ is GONE! Now I'm aware that 13.1 is VHF, but could this UHF amp be that discriminating? Is there any problem with WBRZ today?

Any help will be deeply appreciated,

Thanks,
Ben

Ben,

No problem with WBRZ that I can see. Twice I've seen the CM 7775 block WBRZ. I had the same thing happen to me when I tried the 7775 with my 4228. Once I switched to the 7777 WBRZ became my strongest signal.

Hope this helps.

Is this working? Testing? Hello? Can they really read my words? Hello?

Professor,
Thank you so much! I removed the CM 7775, and once again we're receiving WBRZ in all it's soon-to-be SUPER BOWL glory!

You kind reply really saved my Super Bowl Party. Next time you're in New Orleans, I owe you dinner.

13 is actually a VHF channel. I bet that UHF amp was blocking the VHF band.

If I remember right they are in the 100's and 101's when they aren't mapping correctly.

As of yesterday, I'm receiving a main and two subchannels of OTA WGMB-DT. 44.1 (WGMB-DT), 44.2 (WBRL-TV) and now 27.5 (East). The subchannel with the "East" short name has the same content as the main with the short name "WGMB-DT". Anyone else seeing this, or do I maybe have a receiver problem? I have rescanned a number of times with the same result.

BTW, WLPB-DT still shows a main and two subchannels of 27.1, 27.3, and 27.5.

Im getting a signal of 93% on 44.1 but no video or audio. I'm also receiving two 27-5 one is WGMB-DT and the other is WLPB. I have rescanned many times also. Im guessing their PSIP is messed up again.

Can I catch WBXH UPN OTA in Denham Springs? Im tired of watching the JP basketball games, I would rather watch golf. I cant catch WWL any more. I wish they would show it on 9.2 for the 3 hour broadcast instead of news repeats.

Does anyone know the current Cox HD lineup and if they have added or plan on adding ESPN2HD? Also has Cox picked up ESPN U and The NFL Network yet?

Cox has not added any of the networks listed. The most recent HD channel is the MHD (MTV). I hope they add NFL Network in HD and ESPN2HD before the start of next football season. I will continue to email them until they do.

Sunday, Feb.12th

I just installed the CM7777 and the signal from WBRZ is solid, just as you described. The only problem I have is my Sammy 165 crashes when I tune to 44.1

The RatShack STB I have in the bedroom, however, receives this channel without incident.

Thanks again for your help.

Any American Idol fans in the house? We've got plenty in this household! They make sure they are sitting down 10 minutes before each episode!

I think the guys controlling the SD / HD feed switch are having fun toying with 'em during commercials. It seems every commercial the colors drop to a smeared look and the sound drops to 2 channel audio. The entire room lets out an "awwww!!!", then they all perk back up when the show comes back on in 16:9 with 5.1. It's actually kind of entertaining! Except the past 2 or 3 episodes after the last commercial break it stays in SD. You ought to hear the F words echoing in the room and FOX sure isn't one of them. I told them "feed gods" have it in for them because they know they are going to watch the last 5-10 minutes even if it's in SD. I know the show is kinda of boring but someone needs to stop falling asleep at the wheel during the last commercial break.

I have been noticing that too. They also do that on 24.

Could it be, that maybe some of the commercials are paying for their ads to be in HD?

I noticed all the Budweiser commercials for the Olympics are in HD. Just a thought.

I recently moved from Lafayette to Houston and FOX26 here is doing the same thing with SD at the end of Idol. It's pretty frustrating. One nice thing about H-Town is all of the DTVs are in the same direction. My HDTVi gets all channels without touching it. Wish it was the same for Lafayette.

Wow..... Hmm... Geeeez....

What to do.... I did a rescan again, and no PBS. I went to the signal meter, and no signal for PBS. But it did pick up 27-5 FOX "EAST".

Strange. Weird. Unbelievable. Whack.

More tinkering this evening.

when I'm unable to catch 44.1 wgmbdt, it usually pops in at 27.5 east

It's being mapped to 27.5. Do you have this one?
