I live in Bloomington and just rescanned stations on my TV. The 25-x stations are no longer there, but all of a sudden the 41-x stations showed up.

Must be an antenna issue, or they were off the air for a bit but 25.6 was fine at 4am for a recording and is fine now, South of you in Burnsville. I also get the 41s all the time, both with my 4228 8-bay attic antenna.

Atmospheric conditions in the summer time (when the sun is at a higher angle and the clouds are more dense with moisture) make the low-power stations fade in and out, especially, if you have fringe reception on those low power stations.

They are doing some work at the Telefarm tonight because 4-1, 5-1, 5-2 and 11-1 (and their subs) are all off the air as of 12:45AM

WCCO had a scroll that they were going off the air around 12:37 (after Corden) due to "scheduled maintenance" and said it would affect WCCO, KCCO and KCCW (funny as the latter two are nowhere near Minneapolis) and would be back within an hour.

KSTP nor KSTC had anything noted (I was watching Pawn Stars when it went off)
WCCO went first, then KSTP & KSTC, and I guess lastly KARE

WUCW 23 is still on even though they are on the same tower (per wiki)

KSTP had a note on facebook

http://kstp.com/news/kstp-over-the-a...4507534/?cat=1

June 07, 2017 10:18 PM

KSTP's over-the-air signal will be turned off overnight for maintenance.

The shutdown will impact satellite, cable and over-the-air viewers. The signal is expected to be turned off after midnight Thursday.

The shutdown is not expected to impact any critical programming.

I am very sorry for the slow response. My wife and I were ATVing most of the day and I am just catching up on posts. I checked 17-1 a few minutes ago and I am not getting a signal. I live in Rosemount 55068 and I think I have received it in the past.

I may have mentioned my antenna set up in the past. I have a legacy Channel Master CM-4228 in the attic area above my attached garage. I am well aware that indoor antennas are not ideal. However, one must also consider the WF (Wife Factor).

Anyway, I have read that dual quad bay antennas might work better because the two sections can be aimed independently of one another. Is anybody here using a dual quad bay antenna inside? I am in northern Rosemount MN 55068, so I am really not all that far from the Shoreview towers.

When I lived in my apartment in Shakopee I had one of those 8 bays (the solid signal version) mounted in my walk in closet and it worked fine for the stations.

I tried aiming the 2 sections different directions (at the time to get KPXM 41) and it hindered the signal. So unless you're real close to 2 markets I've advise not aiming them at different directions.

I have a AntennaCraft HBU22 mounted 10 feet up on my deck at my apartment in Chaska (2nd floor apt) and one half of the old 8 bay I had (part got broken when I moved) attached to the deck. Its weird where I am as tvfool shows line of site for all the stations but where my "main" antenna is I get everything but 45 (5-2) cuts in and out. If I lower the antenna say 7 feet down the pole 45 comes in great but then I lose channel 2-1 (RF34) and 2-3 (RF23). There is a row of trees so that is probably the issue. I found a jointenna online that combines the 2 antennas so the one antenna only is used for RF45. Everything else comes off the HBU22.

What are you trying to accomplish? I also have a 4228 in the attic and get basically all the sations quite well......I say "quite" because I still after hundreds of tweaks get the occasional breakups. I'm sure it's not the stations as when I get breakups with a particular channel it's on all TVs on that antenna and not our kitched TV which is on a pair of rabbit ears, which has issues occasionally but not at the same time or channels as my MATV system. IMO our ATSC 1.0 system basically sucks at times. Works well 98-99% of the time but is just flakey the other times and nothing can really be done about it. I'm not looking forward to ATSC 3.0 in the fact I'll need to replace all my tuners but I am excited it's supposed to have much better error correction, similar to MDTV but for all the channels, not just a select few and low in resolution like ATSC 1.0.
Now maybe moving my antenna to the roof may help with the remaining 1-2% of the time, but not enough to go through the work and most importantly have the issues associated with a roof mounted antenna so I'm willing to live with what I have.
It's nice having 2 channel 9s, 90% of the time I get better luck with 9.9 but just last week I started having issues with 9.9 so I switched to 9.1 and wala, it was better

I was just hoping to improve my signal, but I doubt that I will make any changes at this time.

I also like having the ability to get 9.1 or 9.9.

Also, is anybody here getting their local channels via a means other than direct Over The Air (OTA)? The reason I ask is because when I still had DISH Network, I liked getting the local channels via the optional ATSC tuner. I only saved a few dollars per month by not getting them via the satellite, but I also think the quality was better through the ATSC tuner.

I do subscribe to DirecTV Now. Having a TiVo Roamio OTA and DirecTV Now seems to be a great combination for us. They just added KSTP-5 and we have been getting KMSP-9. I would love for them to add WCCO-4 and KARE-11.

And, I have to admit, as much as it is nice to get the other local channels in this market, if I only got 4,5, 9 and 11 through DirecTV Now. We simply don't watch the other channels much/ever. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that they are available, but with Netflix and DirecTV Now, I just don't find myself tuning in those other channels.

I have the 4228 in my garage attic in Rosemount off 140th and have no issues with signal. I keep the antenna because the quality difference between OTA and Dish locals is quite obvious to me, especially on sports.

yup. Remember when they went digital and it took like 6 months for them to fix the blaring distorted audio?
The station is owned by a company in Florida that owns a couple more low powered stations.

Looks to be back up now, and in 1080i
I definitely had no signal earlier, on both my Tivo and Sony TV but again all is well now.

I will be installing an antenna in the attic of a new house in Prior Lake on the southern end of the lake. Antenna will be about 25 feet from the ground. What antenna do you recommend? is the Channel Master 4228HD still the best equipment to use, or is there something better on the market that you could recommend? Thanks in advance for any advice and recommendations you can provide.

This 8-bay 60 mile is the antenna I purchased and am quite satisfied with it. I use it in my attic and being less directional it works quite well for me on both Shorview(basically all the MSP channels) and Big Lake(channel 41).
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1
This antenna, the 70 mile Yagi looks nice but is probably pretty directional and you might have to move to be able to get Shorview and Big Lake, depending on your location.

Having owned both I would go with the 1st one (the 8 bay). The Yagi is directional. It worked great when I needed it at the lake house (Mille Lacs) and had to aim at Brainerd for Fox's 2200 watt translator but here in the cities it doesnt work well getting both Shoreview and Big Lake.

MCM Electronics has the same one cheaper right now. Its 39.99 if you use code F70621 (but it expires on 7/16). I've purchased 3 antennas from them and they are really good.

One note too....those antennas are mainly UHF only. They may get some VHF (of which KARE11 and a copy of FOX 9 is on) but it wont be optimized. I have a separate VHF antenna for those. On the site its part 30-2475 and its $20 (with same code above)

I just noticed Light TV is active on KMSP 9.5 RF9. Some might have to rescan in order to get it, but it is active.
