Question:

I was watching the flick SUPERNATURAL on WB61 (yeah yeah... so I like 1 show on the network) and it has delayed audio.

NONE of my other HD sources do that, as well as none of my SD sources, but this delay on WB61 HD content is noticeably delayed.

I am in the Chandler area getting my HD through Cox and its being recorded to DVR (8300HD)

Anyone else have this?

When I was watching Gilmore Girls last night OTA, I noticed the voice delay as well. It wasn't there last week. It did happen a couple of times last season, but it's not a regular thing.

That high bitrate is why those shows look so good. I am so glad our NBC station doesn't multicast...thanks to the engineers at NBC...now with the automated 5.1 switching NBC is on their game

Am I the only one missing NBC 12.1 OTA? Noticed it wasn't coming in yesterday, but it may have been out longer (despite my beautiful HDTV, I don't get to watch it much). I rescanned for channels three times, am getting 5.1, 10.1 ... , but not 12.1. Here in Glendale (Arrowhead) with my Sony HD200. Any thoughts?

It was there last night in on my setup b/c I record L&O SVU. You prob have to rescan again. Also make sure you try different locals for the antenna if you can.

I'm picking up 12.1 on one TV but not the other. The Sanyo built in tuner was getting it but my Accurian STB was not, although it reports a strong signal. I haven't checked this evening yet.

I'm back in business tonight -- the 4th scan did the trick. Last night only HD was out; SD OTA was fine. Odd.

I don't think the Accurian updates channel info unless you rescan. My samsung on the other hand updates on the fly. When 3.2 was added the Accurian didn't see it until I scaned again but my samsung and mits showed it right away. And when my samsung was only showing 36 the Accurian was still using 12.

Your site allows for a good comparion and things were just as I thought they were. Last night's CSI: NY was by far the best looking show of the night and of the new season. Do you still have the bit rate listed for Monday night's CSI: Miami? I would like to see what it was versus CSI:NY.

Thanks! I'm kinda surprised by the identical bitrates. Maybe CSI: Miami's color tinting affected my vision.

Did you think it was going to be better or worse than NY? I can tell you that due to Miami's brighter colors, it has become the defacto hdtv reference show for PQ. Anytime I want to show people how good hdtv can look I whip out an episode of CSI Miami. I am not talking about show/acting quality though...lol

Update on the WB61/ABC slightly off audio issue for you local guys.

I got an email back from one of their tech guys this morning and he stated it should've been resolved as of yesterday evening.

Quote:

We have had some component issues
with our digital encoders and have been awaiting parts to repair. The device was
finally repaired yesterday and the lip sync should be OK now. Thanks for watching
and sorry for the inconvenience.

Did anyone get MNF in HD last night? I was unable to. All I got was the occasional flash of pixels and a few frozen shots of the game. 80% of the time (during the 20 minutes I tried) I received nothing. Did anyone else experience this? During this time ALL other local HD channels were crystal clear. Why can't our local ABC get it right ? This is one of the reasons I have an HD setup!

FYI: I am at ~Power and Thomas in NE Mesa.

I didn't watch much of the game, but the parts I did watch (third quarter) were fine. This was OTA in Scottsdale.

I only watched the 4th quarter OTA it was fine then.

I have noticed that 15.1 is one of the more difficult channels to get consistant reception. My theory is that problems are because they are on physical channel 56 at the very top of the UHF band, so all the hot spotting and other issues with the UHF band are at their worst for that channel. It makes it really hard to find a good antenna location and to find an antenna that has really good gain at that frequency.

Does anyone know if cox is going back to trapping basic cable when you have high speed internet. I have High speed internet and was getting the basic cable and QAM HD channels even though that wasn't part of my package. This morning nothing. Internet still works but the cable is out. Going to check a few connections but I'm pretty sure they must have cut me off. Bummer.
