12.1 87

Any ideas?
Most of the "homebrew" antennas are UHF centric and only pickup VHF channels in areas with strong reception.
8, 10 and 12 broadcast on VHF all other Phoenix stations broadcast on UHF...10.2 is actually on UHF(sub-channel of 45), you may need to modify your antenna to add "rabbit ears" to it to pickup VHF stations better.

Got a letter from Cox the other day saying that a lot more channels were moving to SDV. It included all the most popular ones including TBS, ESPN, USA etc. so I am assuming that means all cable channels will be SDV now.

Aren't they just the SD versions on the old "analog" tier, like TBS 49, not the HD versions, like TBS 1049?

Cheers, Dave

That could very well be the case. I don't have the letter in front of me anymore and all I remember is the networks that were stated, don't remember the channel numbers but it would make total sense to just be doing it with the SD channels.

I have the letter and they are all SD channel numbers, except for HBO 2 at 1201. I suspect this is a precursor to going all-digital.

Cheers, Dave

Going all Digital should free up enough bandwidth to remove all the Essential TV Pak channels off SDV.

The new Mini Digital Adapter, to my knowledge, does not support SDV, so you would think Cox would make sure that device worked with all the Starter and Essential Pak channels.
Cox New England is using the Evolution HD uDTA

Not sure if Cisco markets will use the Evolution or a Cisco HD DTA

Just FYI:

FOX has not renewed its contract with Bounce, which will be leaving 45.3 in September. I think it may have been picked up by ABC 15 (?).

Also, in December, 45.3 will begin airing the new FOX network Buzzr.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

FYI, OTA folks

TiVo Roamio OTA is now a one time payment of $299.99 includes Lifetime Service
https://www.tivo.com/TLP4

http://www.cnet.com/news/tivo-roamio...-service-fees/
TiVo Roamio OTA now selling for $300 with no service fees TiVo has announced "limited-time" pricing for the Roamio OTA DVR of $300 with no monthly service fee. It's a great deal for cord-cutters as long as it lasts.

I want a super deal like that for a Roamio Pro since a Cox tech fried the tuner on my lifetimed Premier Elite. A tech has admitted that they fried it, but no one from claims has contacted me. I have now been down for 8 days.

Have you called TiVo to see if they will replace it with a refurbished unit, for a fee, like $150, and transfer the Lifetime for $199? I have seen in the past others out of warranty get a that offer.

"Buzzr" is owned by Fremantle Media North America, not Fox. Fox O&O stations signed on as affiliates, as have other stations.

You must be exceptionally intelligent. Thanks for proving that to the rest of us. I hope you feel better now.

American Idol
is also owned by Freemantle. Would you not characterize this as a "FOX" show? We can split hairs, but I don't see mulling these points as helpful. Every show on CBS is considered a CBS show, just like on every other network, and no one cares which are produced by Sony, or Paramount, or whoever, unless they are attempting to lay odds on renewals. Nearly every media product out there is a partnership in one way or another, and that is a given, and completely obvious.

The launch of Buzzr is through FOX, and is only possible because of FOX. Otherwise, Buzzr would still be just a YouTube channel. All FOX O&O stations will carry it because FOX owns those stations and has mandated that they will carry it. The next step is to persuade affiliates to carry it. If they decline, the final step is to get a non-affiliated station in each remaining market to carry it. Nothing surprising about this rollout; Movies! was done the same way, as was nearly every other sub-channel network rollout. But all that is really important here is that in this market, it will be here in December and will be on 45.3.

"Affiliate" refers to a station "affiliating" with a network under contract to carry their product. FOX O&O stations are not "affiliates", because both the station and the network are owned by the same company, 21st Century FOX.

I only posted this as information that might be helpful to those who might want to be viewers, and not as fodder to be parsed to the nth degree regarding unimportant obvious factoids not relevant to the dissemination of that information.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

AI is only shown on Fox. Buzzr will be on networks other than Fox. Fox has NOTHING to do with Buzzr, other than having the O&O affiliates all carry Buzzr. Apples and oranges. Nice try though.

Bounce will be picked up by Univision, most likely on channel 33.4. The contract was announced last year.
