Thanks for the advice. Tried with DTV one more time and it was also suggested to return receiver from call center. Did that and got back KBAK but still so a strong signal and no picture for KERO. Tech's gonna come and see what they can do. DTV is puzzled and says this is truely a first in their division of HD off air.

I also have lost Kero 23.1 They must be having problems. Back on 10/2, I started to watch Desperate Housewives. The show was not being broadcast in HD. After the first commercial I called the newsline phone number and told the girl "You're not broadcasting in HD, tell the engineer to throw the switch" She seemed puzzled at first and then said OK. The show then changed to an HD signal about 2 minutes later.

Well classic DTV response. It's not one of ours so I have no clue what's going on here. Let me describe my problem again. KERODT 10.1 or 23-1 on DTV is black. Signal strength is at 77%. No one seems to know what is wrong. It's too bad to because that means on HD Monday Night Football for me. I have an Indoor antenna. I have both the HDTVi from Terk and the Radio Shack 1880 amped Model HD antenna. Both show great strength and yet no picture.

I sent an e-mail to TV 23 yesterday. The chief engineer Tom Wimberly called me back this morning. He stated that everything appeared to be OK. He thought that the problem must be on my end. He even offered to come out to the house and assist me in repositioning the antenna. I tried to express to him that it just was not me, that others were having problems also. Something seems to have changed on their end a couple of weeks ago. I would encourage others that are having problems to send an e-mail to the station manager or call him.

I was receiving 10.1 last night for the football game. It had an audio problem early on (It was a national problem, feel bad for the guy who put all that work into the HD Chicken Little intro), and then started swapping between the HD and SD feed. About a half hour in though, it was the HD feed pretty consistently.

Do those of you using directional/outdoor antennas have them pointed at Fox (Visalia) and still get CBS, ABC and NBC?

Hey Gentle Persons,

I finally Received KERO DT last night or afternoon at 4pm. I am amazed and hope that nothing changes so that I do not receive it anymore. IF anyone else was having my problem and also had it come on yesterday it would be nice to know. This way I know it was on their end and not my own.

I also began to receive KERO over the air again. It was back on when I checked it again on 11/04. I am receiving a better signal now than I was before. Maybe the problem was on their end? jefe noche, I have my directional antenna pointed to KMPH and receive all local DTV stations OK.

Channel 66 - UHD

Universal HD channel I guess.... nothing that grabs me from the guide yet....
...no complaints but I'd be more excited about ESPNHD2....

Why is BrightHouse dropping local ABC HD channel? Channel 23 is running an announcement but there is now explanation.

Yes, I saw the notice also. Wow, what a disappointment. The notice stated that you would still be receiving them if you were a Cox customer or OTA. That makes me think that KERO wants cash for their digital signal that BHN isn't willing to pay. So on December 1st we'll be down to one local network. While I'll probably give things a little tiime to shake out, I'll have to seriously consider going with DirecTV and their hd dvr. I was hoping things would move in the other direction. It seems that if cable companies are required to carry the networks free of charge, then the networks ought to be required to provide all over the air signals free of charge as well. It also is unfair that since the cable companies have a monopoly based upon location, we can't opt to have Cox instead of BHN. Bad news for this tv watcher.

Someone at work today stated that he herd that their was finally an agreement between Brighthouse and KERO. I wonder if Brighthouse will still carry UHD on channel 66? It could have been hard to justify their HD tier price if they had to drop a channel. Is anyone else receiving KVPT on channels 18.1 or 18.2? I did a digital search last night and was able to receive them for the first time. The signal though is not very consistent. Nature in HD looked spectacular.

Hey just wanted to let you know I just got an email reply back from DTV about their HD programming. According this email they are currently negotiating with TNT to bring TNTHD to the lineup. If you are a DTV subscriber I urge you to email them about what channels you'd like to see in HD (DUH! all of them). The email said that responses about certain HD channels bring management to start negotiating with networks to bring the HD to DTV. Thanks later. and by the way my off airs are so much better now. THanks for your help with my problems with them earlier.

Is anyone else picking up 29-2 KBAK-FO I don't see it listed anywhere so I'm guessing they are working the kinks out. But if anyone from 29 is reading there is no sound on your station for 29-2. also I've had brief very brief encounters with 23-3 and 17-3. just thought you'd like to know

I'm picking up 29-2 as Fox as well. I haven't seen the -3 or KVPT mentioned above though, but I don't channel scan all that often.

I'm having major troubles with my DTV HD receiver. I receive 29-1 except for it's the fox DT station. I was receiving both and now I'm receiving the wrong channel and not even getting 58-1 for 29 if you understand what I'm saying. I get every once in a while 25-2 it has a 29 in the corner and then its gonna. If anyone can help let me know. I contacted KBAK and they said they would have it fixed by this weekend and no change. On regular HD built in Tuners it is received. For instance my brother in laws TV receives both correctly. MY DTV receiver does not. Same as for when I was not receiving KERO I thought it was my receiver but it was not it was on KERO's end that was the problem.

thanks if you can help

Jollybear,
What kind of TV do you have? On my Sony LCDRP I have to unplug it about once a month to dump the internal memory. I can tell when its about time because it starts dropping certain channels. Might be worth a try.

Hey I'll try resetting my box. My TV is an RCA HD Monitor so I don't have a built in tuner unfortunately. But that's what I get for being cheap. Anyway I'll try that reset for DTV box and see what happens. I'll give it a hard reset here maybe like 20 minutes to an hour.

Okay did the reset did all I could think of and now that I've contacted KBAK and had some email discussions with them I am now contacting Directv about some box issues maybe the problem. Anyway I see they have the H20 out maybe my protection plan can get me out of this box H10 and into the H20.

Oh well

Does anyone know when KBFX will broadcast in HD? I'm assuming/hoping it would be in time for the NFL Playoffs. I don't receive the KMPH signal, so I really hope it comes on by then.

I'm having the same problem.....29-1 on DirecTV is actually the FOX feed, and 23-1 is weak signal (less than 50 on signal meter)........have contacted DirecTV and local engineers, but nobody seems to think it's their problem.....it's probably a PSIP problem with the local channels.....

I received this email From KBAK 29

Hey guys, good news, well sort of, I just talked with a DirecTV engineer and he has a quick fix. If you go into your settings for your tuner where it asks for a zip code leave it blank and then do a channel reset, this will force the tuner to look for PSIP locally.
When you enter your local zip it sends the info to a company (Tribune) that has preset PSIP info for local areas. When we added a secondary stream their setup wasn't setup for it. Hopefully that will be changed after the Holidays but in the meantime you can delete the Zip and it should work once you remap the channels.
By the way, Mark, you were saying that it is ch. 29 when you get up but at 7am it changes to 58. Well, that issue was that we air on Morning show "Daybreak" as a simulcast to both stations. So you are getting 58 at 6am but it is airing the 29 news at that time.
Thanks guys for being patient and let me know if it works

Only one problem for me now. Since I turned off my zip I don't get KUVI and I also still don't get 29-1. I do however have 58-1 23-1 and 17-1

No idea really....if it ever does.
If you check some of the prior posts, as a repeater station for KMPH out of Visalia, it's in a different category. Hopefully there will be something down the line, but who knows? Best bet for now is a good antenna to pull in KMPH.

has anyone else noticed that fox 58 has DT and 58.1 in their call letters now and not LP. I was wondering why they are not showing anything in HD. Hopefully now BHN will beable to pick up the signal since Kbak is now avalible to BHN and Kbak owns KBFX. also why do kget and kbak not have 5.1 surround sound?
