WKDH ceased broadcasting at 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2012 after more than 11 years on the air; this is due to the Spain family's decision not to renew its LMA with Southern Broadcasting. The ABC affiliation for the Columbus-Tupelo-West Point market moved to the second digital subchannel of WTVA;
In your market the 2 stations you mention are on UHF which I think the Mohu is designed for. WTVA is on VHF8 (remaps to 9) and I wonder if the Mohu works for that?
Do you get WMAB (PBS)? Reason is that is also on VHF (10...remaps to 2)
Yes we are pulling in WMAB with no issues all day today. Previously it never came in with any of my other antennas.
From the Mohu site:
The Ultimate - An amplified powered indoor TV antenna with Clean Peak filter technology that removes unwanted RF signals and boosts the ones you want for the more difficult locations. Nothing like it on the market! Also with USB powering option and 16 ft. cable. Range is about 50 miles for UHF and 20 miles for VHF. Additional 5 dB gain than the Leaf Plus and improved filtering technology make it the best Leaf yet.
What you will love is when you call Direct or Dish, they will tell you that, by the decision of the local affiliate, they were unable to offer the CW, however they would be glad with the submission of a release by the local station to offer you WPIX (on Dish) out of New York for an additional charge.
My WCBI OTA signal has been much weaker since the last time its transmitter was knocked off the air in the fall. Has anyone else noticed this?
Yes. Only on pretty clear days is it really good.
Since I posted this I moved my Mohu into the attic and pulled in WTVA for a change. WCBI is still flaky and I lost a few bars on PBS. I LOVE the Create channel. I'll be getting a better antenna in the next week now that my attic is working (clean) as intended.
Repair crews are hitting the final stretch in the efforts to bring WCBI Television back to full power. Several major components were restored overnight and another key step takes place today. That means we will be off the air starting at 1:00 Monday afternoon. We hope the disruption is contained to a two hour window but could go longer. Today’s work should be the last major outage in our repair process. WCBI thanks you for your continued support while we undergo these repairs and work to be your station of choice.
