Question: Would most of you prefer that Dramas or Comedies (like King of Queens, NYPD Blue, CSI, etc) or even movies on HBO-HD or ShowTime-HD be HD video based verses HD film base productions?

This question has arose from this discussion: http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/Forum20/HTML/002924.html

Personally, I have become accustom to these shows having a more movie or film based fell/look. It's kind of obvious that these show are meant to look film based. Take Diagnosis is Murder for an example which is shot using an HD video camera is still edited to look as if it were shot using 35mm film.

Personally I think you will really see the difference in HD when looking at a video look. Like a soap opera for instance, or the Discovery Channel look. That in my oppinion is where HD trully shines.

Me to. The blurred film look just does not have the same excitement as the sharpness of video.

I like the sharper quality of HD video, but would prefer to see what the photographer envisioned for me to see.

Diagnosis Murder is shot on video?

I like film for movies and dramas. HD video for documentories. Don't care much about how they record sit-coms, as long as they are funny.
