Article in Sunday's (6/17) issue of Star Ledger. Available in www.nj.com. If you can get a hold of the paper version, there's a photo of AVS forum member hindif who was interviewed for the article. It also mentioned plans of Comcast for delivering HD to NJ subscribers at an additional premium rate.

Change the 13924ef.html to 13924ee.html above to get to the other article. Also mentioned plans of NJ Public TV networks

The last paragraph of the article reads

"The technology needs to be easier to use. You shouldn't
need a PC to watch HD," he said. "My wife gets more
annoyed than I do. She just wants to watch programs. Part
of me wants to watch the technology, too."

Hello? It should have been pointed out that a simple $500 DTC100 can be used by mere mortals. Is he talking about a HiPix timeshifting option? Every reader who doesn't know better will think you must build a dedicated PC in order to watch HD. An Ivy League degree may also be needed?

This isn't helping our cause.

Curtis,
You hit the nail on the head. I read the ledger and almost called up the reporter. I was pissed.
I believe the reporter believes that you need to use a PC to view HDTV. There is no mention of simple HDTV STBs.
Either the guy that was interviewed, misled the reporter(some of thes PC-HD enthusiasts are a little over enthusiastic) or the reporter simply did not do his job and investigated nothing himself.
Luckily the article was in the business section.
If I had to watch HD through my PC, I would not have been watching it every night for the past 2 years.
