Add another one to the list with PSIP issues with WBAL, glad I decided to watch Heroes first instead of 24, the wife and I would have not been happy when we found out the Tivo wasn't recording anything on 11-1. I'm able to get it at 59-1 on the HR10-250, odd thing is my HTL-HD is still getting it at 11-1 fine.

Matt

And try to contact WBAL. Their phone number sends you into voicemail hell.

Be happy you have an HR10. The HR20 says 59-1 doesn't exist so it can't tune it. It will only tune things that are predefined.

WBAL-DT is showing up as channel 59-1 on my Samsung SIR-T451 ATSC and Sony HDD250 DVR, so this is a broadcast PSIP problem. Wonder how long before they fix this?

I sent WBAL email via their website.

Based upon how quickly they responded last time, I'd say never.

Anyone have an engineering number for them?

Ugh. No more "real" Christmas music anymore? I hope that WETA does a good job, but it won't be the same I'm sure. I guess Viva LaVoce is dead too. Worst part is that Snyder doesn't even have his hands on it yet. I knew things were not good when they were moved from 103.5 in favor of that Wash Post freq shuffle.

I, too am having trouble with WBAL on my HR10-250, but not on my TV tuner. My TV lets me get it on 11.1 and 59.1. It's still that way this morning. Also this morning, 67.2 is the same way. I can get it on 29.2 on the dvr, and 67.2 and 29.2 on my tv. I hope they fix this soon, I record stuff from those channels and last night, luckily I discovered it before Heroes, so I could manually record it on 59.1.

The MPT website says that Owings Mills is 29.1, etc. No mention of 67.1, etc., there. Maybe they are transitioning to their new number (67 is out of range as of 2009).

That would make sense. WFPT is @ 62.x so they will likely change also. Unless of course this is all because of a typo by someone.

"NFL Network will present more than 100 hours of Super Bowl-related programming, including 55 hours of live coverage and more than 60 HD hours."

http://www.multichannel.com/article/...=Breaking+News

The question is will Comcast show any of this? They removed the channel that had the NFL HD programming.

Channel 67 is the MPT Baltimore station, WMPB which is digital on 29. The Frederick station, WFPT, is analog on channel 62, digital 28. The complete list of the six MPT broadcast stations with their analog and digital channels can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryland_Public_Television.

Is there some reason why multiple stations in Maryland have messed up PSIP channel assignments? Do they all use a central service for filling out the PSIP information? Somebody is screwing up.

However, there will be no "transition" to a new number. The existing stations are to forever be known by their analog channel number. So WMPB-DT is supposed to always show up as channel 67 even after the analog shutdown, even though they are broadcasting on channel 29. This all set by the FCC.
