Regarding Airbox, I just made an interesting discovery. While the Airbox video is encrypted and unwatchable, on my old box with iView V13 firmware, both the EPG and audio work on Airbox channels.

Firmware differs among these boxes, so I don't know if this works on the ViewTV.

I looked at the Airbox site, 35 bucks for all 10 channels, 20 bucks for 4 channels, plus six extra per month if you want dvr service. You have to buy the box too. I sure hope other channels don't start charging over time. I'm looking for something else, Netflix is getting very limited and I've been renting movies from Google Play at 2.99 a pop seriously thinking of dropping Netflix if they don't add more soon.

The server is very slow, but yes, it is working. The speed issue is on the to-do list this week.

KVFW lineup changes again

The follies continue. At least Rev'n is a constant at 38.5. Somebody at KVFW must really like that channel; if KVFW is broadcasting anything they broadcast good ol' Rev'n.

But all the China Central TV channels are gone today. In their place I'm seeing one new channel - no, it isn't Retro; don't be silly.

I finally saw a logo for OnTV4U, an infomercial channel. KJJM/34.6 is also OnTV4U, but it's not a simulcast. I guess every OnTV4U subscriber gets their own "loop" of ads.

So what subchannel is it on? I'm not really sure: my iView, HomeWorX, DTVPal, and LG TV won't pick it up at all. The OnTV4U logo showed up right after "KVFW 38.2" was displayed, but my DVR+ shows it as 38.3. The service ID (which usually corresponds to the subchannel number on other tuners) is 1793!

Edit: Somebody is working late. A simulcast of ONTV4U, with working audio, just popped up on service ID 2 (which used to be one of the CCTV channels). Sure enough, it shows up as 38-2 on my HomeWorX. (Oddly, Rev'n is only working on the DTVPal - with a long pause - and the DVR+; not the HomeWorX though.)
