If you're willing to give up the reliability of a copper landline, why not go cell only or get Ooma, which is almost free?

Ha, I was just about to ask what happened to MSNBC and ID. Guess that's my answer! Comcast is utterly incompetent, their service was out much longer than CL&P after Irene, and CL&P was solid through Snowtober, but Comcast was out for several days. Guess it doesn't matter if you restore cable service when you have no competition!
This whole 1000-series numbering is really going to screw me up!!! It does look like they really are grouped by type though, which is great. They left a lot of space in the lineup for more channels, which means they think they will have the bandwidth to do so eventually, which is good.
They're not going to back off compression, unfortunately, as they can cram more channels and more VOD on the system if they keep the compression levels high. They aren't going full digital right off the bat, I think they're dropping batches of analog channels, which is pretty stupid, they should just go for broke. For every analog removed, figure on 3 HD's showing up!
