That's a lie by me!

CNN HD is now showing up on 765, TBS HD on 766. However, both are currently dark, and neither has any programming data yet.

Getting closer!!!

No sign of CNN HD here, but TBS HD (198) was just showing King of Queens and Seinfeld is about to start. Both are stretched SD, but that was to be expected.

I wonder if we'll get CNN HD since we don't have it yet. Maybe Thursday.

I noticed that. I read an aritcle at Multi-channel news that said it would be turned on 10-1 if there were any games played that day.

As I recall, CNN HD is supposed to be added 10/2. TBS HD was added a day earlier than planned because of the game tonight.

Just got a message on my cable box that two new HD channels are now available. CNN HD on 196 and TBS HD on 198.

Now that's something new, actually letting people know they got a new HD channel on the day it was added! Wow, that's like, Comcastic!

Edit: Dang it, you beat me to it pplchamp1.

TBS HD is coming in on the Plainville system. CNN HD is nowhere to be found.

The Tube Music Network shutdown at midnight last night. I happened to catch wind of it from some other sites I visit, and was watching to see what would happen. The last song was "A3 - Woke Up This Morning (Chosen One Mix)", which was the theme song from the Sopranos. The song ended and the transmission went black. Sounds like someone there had a sense of humor . Shortly after that, the message that currently appears on the screen popped on.

I got nothing here in the Branford System except The Tube message. Of course, it's Dancing with the Stars now, so I've lost control of the remote...

I've got nothing but a black screen on TBS HD in the Waterbury system, and like Chris said CNN HD is up and running. I'm sure they'll straighten out TBS HD by Wednesday in time for the games.

Ugh. Just give us fullbitrate on your shows. We don't need bandwidth hogging informercials or yet another worthless "weather" warning system.

Apparently No TBS HD for those in the Wallingford CT area. I'm pissed.

Bill(Mon Oct 1 23:05:30 EDT 2007)>Will TBS HD be added to my channel lineup

analyst Amy has entered room

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:05:40 EDT 2007)>Hello Bill_, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Amy. Please give me one moment to review your information.

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:06:16 EDT 2007)>Good evening

Bill_(Mon Oct 1 23:06:28 EDT 2007)>I'm in Wallingford CT. From what I've read New Haven and Hartford already have the channel available

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:07:33 EDT 2007)>I'm sorry Bill, this channel will not be available at this time in your town as the channel capacity in the town is 625Mhz. The channel is only available in towns capable of 750Mhz.

Bill_(Mon Oct 1 23:09:33 EDT 2007)>Great. Do they plan on upgrading any time soon? I don't seem to get much HD content for what I pay compared to those surrounding areas.

Amy(Mon Oct 1 23:10:28 EDT 2007)>Bill, I'm sorry this would mean rewiring the whole town, we have not been made aware of when this might happen. I do apologize.

Thanks for the Wallingford update.

This also really pisses me off.

How can they make us watch the Baseball Playoffs in SD. I have not watched an SD game in 2 years until last night. Boy does it suck.

At least the ALCS will be on FOX.

GO SOX!!!

TBS HD is not happening in the North Branford area.

Quote:

Carmine > Will we be getting TBS HD?
Louise > Hello Carmine, Thank you for contacting Comcast Live Chat Support. My name is Louise. Please give me one moment to review your information.
Carmine > Hi Louise!
Louise > I'd be happy to help you in any way that I can.
Louise > Hi Carmine.
Carmine > Just a quick question on whether or not we'll be getting TBS HD in our area in time for the MLB Playoffs
Louise > Please hold a moment while I check to see if TBS will be available in your area.
Carmine > in North Branford, CT
Louise > I'm sorry, but TBS HD is not scheduled to be released in North Branford at this time.
Carmine > Well, that's terrible.
Carmine > How can I watch the MLB Playoffs in HD, when MLB has an exclusive contract with TBS?
Louise > I understand. I happen to live in a town where it is not being released as well.
Louise > I'm sorry that I did not have better news for you.
Carmine > What's my incentive to stay with Comcast, when all the other providers, DirectTV, Dish, AT&T UVerse are offering at least twice as many HD Channels as Comcast?
Carmine > It's depressing, that our area is neglected.
Louise > I can tell you that this is only the first launch, and that we are working to provide all of these channels to all of our customers as quickly as possible.
Louise > I would be happy to forward your comments to our programming and engineering groups to let them know of your disappointment with the service.
Carmine > AT&T has already started wiring my neighborhood for their UVerse service, which promises to offer 30+ HD channels. It's going to be tough to stay with Comcast once they open up that service. ;-)
Carmine > Yah, please forward comments. Let them know that they have to get their act together and provide better HD content and lose the channels that run 24/7 infomercials on them.
Louise > I understand, but we will be working equally hard or harder to see that our customers receive the top value available.
Louise > I will forward that for you as well, Carmine.
Carmine > Thank you!
Louise > You're very welcome! Is there anything else that I can help you with today?
Carmine > Nope... just depressed that some of my friends will be watching the playoffs in HD, and I have to see them in low quality SD! I'm spoiled, because I"ve watched the entire season in HD, and now I have to go back to the stone age!
Carmine > Have a good day!
Louise > You too, Carmine. Thank you for contacting Comcast.

Do I even dare ask about the Clinton system; if they are getting TBS HD?

And what is the bigger picture? All the systems that are sub-750, how are they going to squeeze more HD into the system? Switched Video?

Maybe I should go back to D*

CNN HD up and running in Canton as of this morning. I checked last night before I went to bed around 12:30 and still didn't have it. Checked at 8:30 this morning and it was on.

Paulie, still no word on CSN NE?

I just updated the channel listings. If anyone sees an error for their area or one they have knowledge of, please let me know.

Also, I don't have channel numbers for New Haven or Danbury since they have HD On Demand on 196 so I wasn't sure if TBS HD was still 198 on those systems or something else as well. Please let me know so I can update the listings for those two systems.

RE: North Branford System
John_>I am wondering where TBS HD is to watch the MLB playoff games? Other Comcast customers have the channel, but I do not see it in my lineup.
Jeff>This will be a minute
Jeff>Ok, this channel is not available in your area.
John_>How is that? Others in CT have it?
Jeff>Yes, but this is due to the network in your area.
John_>So I cannot watch the playoffs in HD? This is very disturbing.
Jeff>I apologize for that, but that is correct.
Jeff>Thank you for using Comcast’s Live Chat support, is there anything else I can assist you with today?
John_>What is Comcast doing to solve this issue?
Jeff>At this time there are no plans to offer TBS HD in your area.
John_>I think you should forward my displeasure to those who can correct this.
Jeff>Do you want to be notified if this channel is added in the future?
John_>Only if it means it will be here in time for the playoffs
John_>Otherwise, i have no need for this channel
John_>This is unacceptable in my opinion.
John_>This is a major sporting event and every other service seems to offer the ability to watch in HD
Jeff>I am sorry but this is due to limitations in the network in your area.
John_>Got it.
John_>Thanks
Jeff>Thank you very much for contacting Comcast electronic support.

anyone know if the middletown system will get this or does anyone know what the capacity of that system is? I'm strongly considering a switch to D* as I'm paying the same as the rest of the state but not getting any new HD channels... Thanks

If you do not see TBS HD already, it's extremely unlikely that you'll see it in time for the Playoffs. If I'm not mistaken, Middletown is one of the bandwidth starved systems, and so you'll only see more capacity as Comcast either upgrades your head-end, moves some analog channels to digital, and / or starts using switched digital video.
