I will need to wait for the new sat to get YES HD 24/7. I added a basic cable feed at $40.00/mo during baseball season for YES HD. ron

You got it correct.

YES HD is available to:
1) Those in the New York market only
2) Those with the New York MPEG4 HD locals as it's spotbeamed with them and authorized with the locals
3) You have a 5 LNB dish and MPEG4 receiver (H20 or HR20)

If any of these conditions are no then you ain't getting YES HD.

Ron, for you since YES is a local RSN to you when the new sats go up and YES HD goes national then you're all set.
For others, YES HD being national will be no different then the SD version (or any RSN for that matter). All games will be blacked out outside the YES home markets.

I am in the NY area and have the YES network on Direct TV. Last year I got pretty much all the home games in HD from YES, but now it seems they aren't showing them. Did something change, am I missing a channel here? I know 95 is usually the YES HD channel when the Yankees are playing, but most of the time this year, it doesn't have the HD broadcast and I'm forced to watch non HD on 622. What gives?

There are two channels for Yes with same number (622?). You need to select the right one in your list of channels you receive. I have the 5 lnb dish with the mpeg 4 receivers.

Hope that helps.

I need to have a multi-dish installation performed in order to receive the new DirecTV satellites. I have the equipment needed for this install.

Can someone please recommend an installer on Long Island.

Lotsa weird things going in NYC.

The combiner atop ESB is out.

No over the air 2,4,9,11,13.

7 has reverted to its backup at 4 Time Square.

Direct not providing a signal for - 2,4 and 11.

Somehow Direct has signal for 9 and 13.

I had thought, or at least expected that the stations were hard wired with fiber for Direct's pickup. It seems as if, they use O-T-A is most cases.

Strange!!!!

Every Sunday I get stuttering from the Directv local fox HD channel via my Directv HD DVR. When I switch to SD stuttering is gone, same with connecting to Fox via over air HD No stuttering.

I have tried re-setting the Directv HD DVR but that does not help

I've been having problems with WPIX breaking up and not being able to watch it for 5-10 minutes before it returns.

Now WNBC is having the same problems. I researched and it looks like it's 99S transponders 16 and 20, and both are in the high 90's, so that's not the issue.

Wondering if there is an issue with my box, and HR20, but it only happens on those two channels(so far).

Any one else have issues?

Everyone else experiencing outages on Directv on locals, primarily Fox during primetime shows the past couple weeks. An error prompts "pay channel" etc ???????

Please post if you have as I am needing more confirmation that everyone in the area is experiencing the same issue.

I had this problem in Boston a couple of weeks ago and called into D* and it was fixed in about 15 minutes as it was on their end not mine so maybe you have the same thing going on.

well it's a state wide issue as I have multiple properties experiencing the same exact issue. Directv's call center is aware of an issue as they have been getting calls and I am working with Directv corporate to find out exactly what's going. I just want to confirm that others are experiencing the exact issue.

I haven't seen problems like that on Long Island. Monday's House did have some issues at the start of the show, but it appeared to me to a problem at channel 5 and not with DirecTV.

AFAIK, the answer is no. The dish must be outside. Do you have a balcony? If you do, and it's for your exclusive use, I think federal regulations prevent your landlord from prohibiting the installation of a dish there.

I have heard that it's possible.

There was a big question concerning the use of glass in the window where the dish would be placed.

Check out the Forum and also Google about this - there was talk about replacing glass with some sort of plastic that would allow greater signal strength.

Good luck!

i cant change the glass on the window and i have no balcony. i've done some research about it and it seems it works but the received signal is usually too weak to withstand bad weather. i have to find a *pro* to come to my apartment and assess my chances of receiving the signal.

the thing is that i dont like cable, FiOS will take forever to get to Northern Manhattan, and OTA is filled with a bunch of lame sub-channels (what a waste...).
