Probably cheaper than acquiring syndication. WVLT wouldn't be the first station to have done this.

Why not just put it on a new 8-3 station?
Pulling the syndie material from 8.2 probably save WVLT a bundle of cash, unless it's all sent over to 8.1 as fill material. 8.3 may be coming in the future for yet another diginet.

Will the last subscriber leaving Dish Network please turn off the satellite.

They're not pulling it all. Zap2It's schedule goes to 9/5 now and 8.2 will only be AntennaTV between the hours of 11PM and Noon, meaning only overnights and mornings. The rest of the time is either syndicated shows or MyNetworkTV.

Antenna TV had earlier stated that their service would wrap around My Network TV. But to not air Antenna TV service from noon to 8 pm is a shocker. The viewing public will cry foul, and the local affiliate will gradually yield, IMO.

I generally don't watch a lot of WATE except for a few shows and maybe a college football game here and there. I have noticed the last few times I have watched something, and they switch to local commercials, the picture quality is just awful. Looks like an overly compressed video you'd see online somewhere.

Are you watching WATE-6 via OTA, cable (which company), or satellite (which company)?

Will the last subscriber leaving Dish Network please turn off the satellite.

I'm watching on DirecTV. The commercials for network programming are fine. It's the local ones that get jacked up/
