Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.

You're lucky you can even get that station. I am 8 miles east of Arlington Heights and can only get it when weather conditions are just right. Where is their transmitter?

Just want to contribute to this forum some info about my attic antenna. I live in the north part of Naperville and have an old RCA 3036 antenna with preamplifier in the attic. The signal is split to four TVs. While reception has been very good there has always been one channel that could be better. Sometimes this is Ch 5.1, sometime Ch 7.1 and occasionally Ch 2.1 is a little flakey. I attributed this to nearby trees and their leafs.

Well, I had my rood re-shingled a few weeks ago and the two previous asphalt shingle layers were removed. Going from two to one layer of shingles seems to have made a significant difference. The signal strength of all the channels jumped up and the pictures are rock solid. An unexpected benefit of getting a new roof!
