I just got off the live FiOS-TV internet Chat Line with a company CSR. He took all my DVR problems and said it sounded like an IMG problem, but they would look into it tomorrow with various people to figure it all out.

THE CHANNEL LINEUP NOW READS "HAMPTON ROADS AREA" AND IT NOW INCLUDES THE URGE RADIO STATIONS.

Vz still has more HD stations than cable

MY COMMENTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL OPINIONS AND IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM REPRESENT Vz or D*

And it still doesn't include ABC HD i.e. CH 13.

As they use to tell me in the military, one "AW S--T" cancels 1000 ATTABOYS

the only channels Vz is missing are:

MOJO (IN DEMAND INC)
AND A&E

I CAN'T THINK OF ANY OTHER NATIONALS THAT ARE CURRENTLY BROADCASTING HD THAT Vz DOES NOT HAVE IN THIS MARKET.

AS FOR LOCAL'S

ABC IS (PENDING, AND SHOULD BE AVAILABLE WITHIN THE WEEKS)
CW-WGNT (cbs corp) (FROM WHAT I HAVE READ Vz DOES HAVE AN AGREEMENT WITH CBS BUT FOR SOME REASON Vz IS NOT CURRENTLY BROADCASTING wgnt-dT)
mnt-(SINCLAIR) ?? NO INFORMATION.

Do any of you have any experience using the Tivo Series-3 HD-DVR with FiOS? If so, any comments positive or negative?

A few others:

Vs/Golf Channel HD -- not much HD content
CSNDC-HD -- Regional Comcast Sports Net, also not much HD content.

i think thats strange how NO PROVIDER in this market caries CSN(mid-atlantic) HD

i think D* only has it as a spotbeam meaning only northern VA and DC can view this station.
I know Vz HAS C Sports Net (Philly) in PA. but i dont see CSN(M-A)HD on the lineups.
and no cable co in this market has it.

Does the cable co in Richmond carry C Sports Net (Mid-Atlantic) HD??

Vz Has this station available in MD, and parts of PA if i'm not mistaken.

Yes, I am currently getting both (CSNDC-HD & Vs/Golf-HD) via Comcast.

According to their website, CSN will carry 3 HD programs in August.

Saturday, August 18th, Steelers vs. Redskins 8pm
Saturday, August 25th, Ravens vs. Redskins 8pm
Thursday, August 30th Redskins vs. Jaguars 7:30pm

With my luck, they will be blacked out and carried by a local station in non-HD.

I think there was 1 program (DC United soccer) in HD in July.

I sure hope so since you have Comcast cable & they own the ch.

I THINK(but am far from sure) that Comcast owns a part or all of Versus/Golf HD. if true there's your answer.

seems to me Comcast is playing the same game as Cablevision is in the NY/NJ market-trying to keep the HD Rsn(s) to themselves for marketing purposes, while the FCC is asleep at the regulatory switch.

you missed one other HD sports ch-Outdoor 2 HD. heard of it, and there's HD content as certain shows on the SD ch are labeled as such(i.e. "The So & So Show HD" or that famous tagline "in HD where available".) I suspect lack of market penetration and lack of interest is reason for it's absence.

Looks like Verizon carries the regional Comcast Sports Net in Philly...
http://www22.verizon.com/NROneRetail...heasternPA.pdf

And also NY...
http://www22.verizon.com/NROneRetail.../NY_NYArea.pdf

Versus & Golf are actually 2 separate channels that Comcast combines into one.
Versus used to be Outdoor Life Network (OLN).

accurate enough on the 1st pt. but Comcast Sports MA HD is OUR market's RSN & no action on this front. if you want access to this ch & are not a Comcast sub you're SOL. I've also heard Comcast let FiOS carry CS-Philly HD with the proviso that FiOS NOT carry it within the Philly city limits.

in NY/NJ the only HD Rsn's carried on FiOS are the ones NOT owned by Cablevision. no MSG-HD or FSN-NY HD which many people want & can't get. and again no one gets these chs except Cablevision subs.

the NY/NJ market has FOUR Rsns & all have HD chs.

CW-27 WGNT-DT does indeed have an agreement with Verizon. Construction (on Verizon's side) is underway. They were in our Portsmouth studios a week ago splicing fiber. They also had to run about a mile of it on the poles to connect to the rest of their network. I can't give you a date as to when our HD will be on their system, but it will. I will let you know when we go on FiOS.
Until then, FiOS does carry our SD signal.

If you would like to see CW-27 WGNT-DT on Cox Cable give them a call and ask for it. We would be very happy if they would carry our HD signal.

That's great news, maybe my video stuttering will end once the fiber link is up and running.

Just the fact you're writing about Verzion do work at your shop, is stirring up the pot at Cox. I would not be a bit surprised if WGNT-DT lands on Cox first... LOL!

I am hoping Vz addes more HD channels soon. I would like them not to only look for Sd customers, but keep us HD customers happy. I am hoping the rumor I heard that WVEC HD is going to be added next Wednesday. I know Cox added A&E HD to their line up, hopefully Vz can get soon too.

Is Vz going to go after Voom's old Channels?

Also it would be great to get CW-27 soon too. Anyone heard if a date has been rumored??

I have given up trying to like the IMG on my FiOS HD-DVR. I just ordered the TIVO Series-3 HD-DVR with the big HD. Tivo is having a great internet special on them right now (saved $300). I should have it by Friday. Don't know yet when I can get FiOS to come out to install the 2 required cable cards.

Verizon should be adding WVEC-13 HD to their FiOS TV on Wednesday.

Also Verizon has an agreement with CW-27 to get their HD channel, which they are working on getting the fiber lines connected now. Hopefully we will get this channel by Fall.

WVEC-HD is now showing up as 813 in the program guide, but I cannot tune to it as of yet.

Correction: It shows up in the guide of one of my DVRs, but not the other....hmm.

yep, in the guide but-"unable to tune to this channel". wtf?

LOL dtv!!!!

Hmm-is Vz remapping the HD locals to(eventually) mirror the analog tier #'s?(i.e. putting an "8" in front of the analog #'s, much like Cox does.) with more HD nats(hopefully) on the way remapping will likely be necessary IMO.
