Yeah, i know what you mean. But think, sooner or later they were going to replace that HD programming because it was too repetitive.

The only HD programming that i see on Azteca 7 HD (on XHTIT-DT) is the news with Roberto Ruiz (at noon, pacific time), and recently i saw both divisional AFC games last weekend (Ravens vs Titans and Chargers vs Steelers) (using the CBS HD feed), since i can´t get KFMB-DT (CBS San Diego), it was a good alternative way to watch AFC postseason games in HD.

By the way, i was thinking this for the 2009 NFL season, since analog tv won´t be available anymore in the U.S. because of the digital transition scheduled for next month. The only feeds that will be available on satellite are in HD. I belive that Televisa and Tv Azteca will get or download the FOX and CBS HD feeds when they broadcast next regular season games. What do you think about it?

Happy new Year.

Good, except here in Juarez we only get one Televisa HD channel, we are still hoping for a Channel 5 HD, I want to see those Televisa made series in HD like El Pantera, Terminales, SOS, Los Simuladores..

Well DrLar, here in Tijuana we have 4 televisa stations, but three of them have a DT outlet: XETV 6-1 (23) which broadcasts the CW network (formely FOX) for San Diego; XEWT 12-1 (32) the local televisa station wich broadcasts programming from all 4 stations in Mexico City (mostly from XEW), and local programming like news and other stuff; and XHUAA 57-1 (22) the repeater of XEW El canal de las estrellas in HD or strech-o-vision.

We have confirmation that the remaining station, XHBJ-TV 45 (repeater of canal 5) has a DT channel allocation (44), i really hope that this digital channel will sign in soon during this year because that´s the only televisa station that i like to watch (besides XHTIT-TV/DT Azteca 7). I hope that your local repeater of canal 5 will sign in soon, if i´m not mistaken that station is XHJCI 32, i remember that channel because is the same ch 32 and also the same repeater of canal 5 in Mexicali, B.C. (XHMEX).

Actually chanel 32 XHJCI is canal de las Estrellas. Channel 56 XHJUB is Televisa Channel 5.

Well anyway here are some pictures of the new score boxes from TV Azteca & Televisa.

They blacked out the Soccer game (again) in Channel 11-1, they were showing the same thing on 11 and 20, analog and digital.. that sucked real bad and I don't see the reason for the black out because they said the stadium was full..

I think i know why.

In this case, like others, local team soccer games are black out in that local area because they´re only available by pay per view by Sky satellite television. A friend of mine in Guadalajara told me that Televisa also black out Chivas local games, (games played on estadio Jalisco) no matter if the stadium is sold out, because they´re only available by pay per view by that satellite system. So, the same black out apply to other cities with their respective soccer teams. Sky satellite tv has the rights to broadcast most games exclusively during the season and in cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Aguascalientes amongst others with a local soccer team are available exclusively by pay per view.

I don´t know if in your area you have Univisión, Telefutura, Telemundo and Azteca America, that´s an alternative way to watch those soccer games that are not available on Televisa or Tv Azteca in Mexico, but i don´t know if Azteca América in that area can broadcast Indios soccer games locally.

XETV is shutting down analog CH. 6 after 2.17.09 for good. It's the first Mexican TV station to shutoff analog. I assume that the other Televisa station airing Mexican programming will keep their analog signals after the DTV date. XETV-TD/DT is on CH. 23 and they are now co channeling XHBJ for now. XHBJ-TD/DT will indeed be on CH. 44 so this could be a temporary home for XHBJ-TD/DT. Very interesting since XETV was going to keep analog after 2.17.09. XETV was going to air EAS info on CH. 6 after 2.17.09. Wonder why they changed their minds. Just some information in regards to XETV since it's a Mexican licensed station.

XETV-TV will still stay on the air but it wont be airing US programming. XETV-TD/DT will air XHBJ-TD/DT until it moves to CH. 44. XETV-TD/DT will still air US CW programming in HD for the San Diego market. XETV-TV will probably air Galavision or XHGC but most likely Galavision since Tijuana doesn't have a Galavision affiliate.

Hi HDTVfan:

I was thinking the same thing as you wrote it right here. If XETV-TV will leave the english programming (CW) because of the digital transition in the US, Televisa could reuse ch 6 to rebroadcast XEQ 9 (Galavisión) from Mexico City.

If you remember, XEQ 9 (Galavisión) from Mexico City was rebroadcasted in Tijuana on XHBJ-TV 45, but in order to broadcast the 2004 summer olympic games, Televisa decided to change the network from XEQ 9 (Galavisión) to XHGC Canal 5 and told XHBJ to make the change on August 9 2004, since then and up to date XHBJ 45 is now part of the Canal 5 network. XHGC Canal 5 is the second national Televisa network, the first is XEW Canal 2 (El canal de las estrellas) and the third is XEQ 9 (Galavisión).

Let´s see what happens, were just one week from the first DTV transition date, since they delayed to June 12, but some stations in San Diego will turn off their analog transmitters next week.

I wondering if either Televisa or TV Azteca will air the game today in HD... I wish they would announce any programming that's in HD or not... (like regular USA networks)

CH. 44 in Tijuana isn't technically owned by Televisa. So we don't know what is going to happen to that channel. I'll wait and see what is going to happen with CH. 6.

Wow, i didn´t expect that XHAS-DT would sign in on these days before the first digital transition date in the U.S. And i also gotta mention that i didn´t see a new antenna array for that DT channel. So, it means that they´re combining analog ch 33 and digital ch 34 into the same antenna. I´ve passed near that tower last wednesday and i didn´t see anything new.

I believe that XHDTV 49 is the next station that will turn on it´s digital outlet.

Man I hate local TV Azteca blacking out all "Indios" games, worst of all mirroring Channel 11 (13), When Televisa does Indios games they do show them here.

I'm guessing they are getting some money from the event organizer, but how much "commercial time" they lose there, along with the zero ratings Channel 20 is getting during those 2 hours..

Is there an update on Sky Mexico HD? Isn't Intelsat 16 launching this year? I went to the Intelsat website and found this:

What is 2H? Did they mean 2Q? lol

2H means second half, so it's between July and December 2009..

They have plans for 2010, perhaps by then..., I bet a few weeks before the World Cup.

XHDTV will be on CH. 33-2 but their physical channel might be 47. Maybe this is a temporary decision until they go to 49.1. They also have plans for HD. Both MNTV and syndicated. Not even KSWB can get syndicated HD.

Hello

Im in Mexico City and I recently bought a PC monitor HP 22" with full HD 1080p (not HD ready) with HDMI output so i wanna see the free to air mexican HD channels and did you think with this receiver i can catch them??:

since i can´t post links the model of the receiver is: Philips DVDR3505/37 1080i Upscaling DVD Recorder with Built-In Tuner (available on amazon or search in google please)

(i guess not because transmitions are 1080i)

or did i need other components?, plus if there´s a better receiver for that price let me know

best regards.

That one only has an SDTV tuner, so you will only see 480i content... I suggest to STAY AWAY from it..

You could get any brand HDTV tuner PCI card for your PC and watch whatever you want in your area, The top box receiver should shat ATSC/QAM tuner.. not SDTV like the one you are planning to buy.

Telemundo to begin broadcasting in high definition
Spanish-language network Telemundo will begin broadcasting in high definition nationally this month. The Miami-based company said it is the first Spanish-language network to offer high-definition programming ``at the local and network levels.''

The first HD broadcast will be the 2009 Billboard Latin Music Awards on April 23. Telemundo plans to offer a new novela, Mas Sabe El Diablo, and all of its prime-time programming in HD.

At least the soccer game was in HD...

Hey Cube do you know any Vista apps that can tune in HD channels? I had to upgrade to vista and my card manufacturer sux.. (ATI)...

Vista does detect it, but it's Vista business, need ultimate for Media Center.. (don't have that kind of money to pay that license).

No, sorry I'm still using Windows XP.

Yesterday, I saw highlights of the UEFA Champions League games in 16:9 on Noticiero Televisa Deportes. I wonder If Televisa shows the games in 16:9 on Canal 5.
