I've getting my HD ready Sony KV-40XBR700 tomorrow and analog cable source at my condo is pretty pathetic. I'm now looking to get dishnetwork to receive some HD signals. Here is my question, will a Echostar 6022 receiver work without additional hardware with my sony or i need some other parts with the receiver?

Since you refer to it as a 6022, I assume that its a package deal that includes dish, IRD and switch. If you just get the 6000, youll need a switch and an extra 18" dish for the 61.5/148 degree location. Youll also need a 20" Dish 500 for core programming.
