Today I sent a letter off to Directv's President Roxanne Austin
about DVI and down rezing the 1080i.
I will share Her responce when I get it.
Step two I will be contacting Rep. Tauzin.
Step three I will start legal action against Directv to recoup my investment in my non DVI HD equipment.
Small claims is a $75.00 fee and gives up to $5000.00 settlement awards.

Mike,

That's what I like, a man of action. Please let us know how your efforts turn out.

Best Regards,

I did find out today that small claims will not take a class action matter and Directv would have to start the down rezing first .Then a class action can be started and a period of time would be set for all harmed to enter it.
So I will stick with my above first two steps and see what happens.
Mike

I met Roxanne (I work for a DIRECTV subsidiary, NOT broadcast) and she seems really nice. I told her that we needed UPN on DIRECTV. I hope that I will get my wish when more locals go live in January...

In any case, won't downrezzing be in the hands of the providers (HBO, etc)? DIRECTV would just be passing the signals on..?

In any case, I am sure that the more noise we make about it, the more likely it is that they will at least be aware that the consumer is against it!

Cheers!
DAve.
