Simple quoted blocks seem to be working now.

Quote:
This is a quoted block. There should be one blank line before and one after.
The "Quote" label could be deleted. The boxed text works, or you could just indent and change the background color.

I'm not sure I follow. Still doesn't seem right to me, in dark theme with Firefox.

The above snippet is a "named quote" of your first sentence.

Quote:

This is an "un-named quote" of your second sentence.

You can see the very different result of both. The second usage does not present the quoted text within a "quoted text window" as the first one does. Personally I would have expected both to be identical, save for the absence of your "wmcclain" identity and the presence of the link back to the original post.

Seems wrong to me.

Here is what I did to create the post:

And here's what it looks like to me, in dark skin:

You're right. It's busted again. I swear it was working yesterday. I'll get a picture next time.

Quotes are broken and have been complained about since the changeover. No idea when they are going to get fixed.

"What do you say Beckett. Wanna have a baby?" - Castle to Det. Beckett
"How Long have I been gone?" Alexis after arriving home and seeing Castle and Beckett w/ the baby - Castle - 11/25/13

Ok, it's working again at the moment. Attached is what I see for post 209 above.

Let's try this again.

The above is a named-quote of your first sentence.

Quote:

And this is an unnamed-quote of your second sentence.

Based on the preview I just did, I would say this is still NOT working... at least in dark theme with Firefox and Win7 Pro x64. The unnamed-quote is still just ordinary text, and not present in italics insiode a quoted text window.

Again, here is how I composed this post.

And here is what the preview looks like to me in dark skin with Firefox:

You are correct. It is not working. I'm using dark theme, Opera 12, Fedora Linux.

My #209 still looks good to me this morning, but your composition is old-style broken.

I'm viewing with Firefox and the light/default desktop skin. But the difference is in the composition, which is eerie, as that shouldn't matter.

Don't know what you're seeing, but to me your #209 looks wrong. There is none of the formatting for the unnamed-quoted text I would expect.

The AVSForum_New skin and AVSForum_Dark skin compose/parse the quote differently based on which skin the quote was posted in.

I took screen shots of both. The point you are trying to make in post 209 is lost unless a user is in New skin or changes from Dark to garner your point

I posted this in AVSForum_Dark~ Thus my quote of you will look different solely based on the choice of skin.

AVSForum_New
Spoiler!

AVSForum_Dark
Spoiler!

Hence Skin Dependent:
208-209 same_210 diff New skin
208-210 same_ 209 diff Dark skin

Actually, to me (dark skin, Firefox) there does not seem to be ANYTHING attached to 219. Was/is there something there?? Seems gone now.

No, attached to 209, not 219.

Wait, you're right. I was confused. The attachment was in 219 and now it's gone!

Here it is again, and I've embedded it.

That the skin makes a difference in viewing is understandable, but in composing? That's eerie.

Lets see how this looks.

Very definitely still NOT working properly for that second "unnamed quote". I'm not convinced they're actually working on this. Creating this separate thread (to get it out of the "to be fixed" thread, where real problems are identified and tracked) suggests we've been relegated to the sandbox.

Working again! It does not have the bounding box in this iteration.

This demonstrates named-quote in dark-them Firefox, which continues to work properly.

However this demonstrates unnamed-quote, which still fails.

Here is what your original post looks like to me, which is exactly the same (i.e. failing) as it's been since the new forum software went in. Note that there is still nothing highlighting your anonymous quote (not a shaded background, nor italic text) as there is when using named-quote.

Try the light skin, which still looks correct to me.

As I've said before, they could drop the "Quote" label itself.

The Retro and Mobile skins are also correct. Looks like only the Dark skin is failing in this regard.

Does this go to a review of Harvey, regardless of the number of posts per page?
