[quote=Joe Bloggs;25681969]This is a link to example 1

[URL="http://www.example1.com"]http://www.example.com[/URL][/quote]

We have the URL between the "" ~~~~We have a made up name

When we edit a URL. that is linked upon itself, be ready to use the change editor button to see the two part composition of the link code

Thanks but should we need to do that? I haven't done that on other forums, I'm sure just editing the link in the text normally would normally change it. Is AVSForum acting differently to most other forums and the previous version of this forum? Surely the simplest way for the user would be to make it automatically change the URL it points to if you edit the text of a URL in the post's text.

Whenever you edit a post, many things won't work properly until you refresh the page.

PHILIPS HD DVRs | MAG/PHILIPS SD DVDRs* | DVDR/DVR COMPARISONS | POST-DVDR OPTIONS
*Due to the AVS SW change in June 2014, most but not all links in this thread will work if you're not logged in. If you are logged in, links should work if your User CP > Edit Options > Number of Posts to Show per Page is set to 30, the default.

Yes. You must go Advanced on old edits. Notice within the next two sentences how I hyperlink the text. Each will have the same text linked and seem the same until viewed in bbcode in an editor box or hovered over in the final result.
